Most cultures have "rites of passage" which mark the transition from an adolescent to an adult. What are some "rites of passage" in our culture? Do you think these experiences help us "come of age"? How long do you think "growing up" takes?

I think some rites of passages in our culture are getting your licence, your first job, your first time buying alcohol. I don't think anyone grows up they just learn more.

I think getting an ID to legally drink alcohol is a "rite of passage". As well as getting a full drivers license. I think they do as they give you more mature types of responsibilities. "Growing up" takes different amounts of time for different people.

I think some of the ways of growing up in our culture is getting a license and finishing high school. I think these help us come of age because once you get your license you have to be more responsible and be more cautious. finishing high school helps you come of age because most people are legal adults when they graduate and living 18 years helps you see and experience things.i think growing up takes about 21 years because after high school you have to start acting like a grown up and doing things by yourself.

Some of our rites of passage are voting, marriage, enlisting in the military, ect. because they're all things you can only do when you're a legal adult. I think how fast you grow up depends on your childhood and just how you were raised. Some people grow up fast and some take a little bit longer.

Some rights of passage that we have are going to school, a drivers license and graduation. They would help us grow by learning and discovering new things. When asking how long growing up takes, I would say that it really depends on the person and where they're at.

The modern day "rites of passage" mostly involve age such as bar mitzvahs and Quinceraneras there are also graduations such as high school graduation and college graduations, then there are weddings and retirement parties are all examples of modern day rites of passage. I believe that graduations and weddings are the main rites that help us "come of age". In my belief how long it takes to grow up depends on how mature the person in question already is and how close they are to getting there degree or getting married as a bare minimum to truly growing up.

i think after you have the ability to enroll in to the military you should be considered an adault and be able to drink even if you are only 18

for LDS people it is blessings at the birth of a child, baptism and confirmation, the endowment, celestial marriage, and grave dedication. These things do help us "come of age". They all happen at different ages. I think growing up can take a while until u get through all of that.

Most People usually have birthdays as a rits as a passage to get older as long with goals of graduating highschool and getting your drivers license. I do think these experinces we have growing up do affect with as a person on how we treat people and act. I feel like we grow up once we get to our goals.

One would be birth, growing up, maturing, having kids, then dieing. Yes, I do think it would help us "come of age". You get to experience life as a kid then an adult or whatever age you are. I think it would take a long time to age, like a couple years.
