What are some songs that have a political message? Do you think music should be used to forward a political message?  Can a song actually make a difference in the world?  Why or why not?

I cant think of anything specifically but songs do have a political message. I think they should because music draws everybody and has a special magic that draws attention. A song can make a difference in the world because of its impact on people.

Tom MacDonald- Brainwashed. Its alking about the government and how they are brainwashing the U.S and feeding us lies and how we are basically eating it of the palm of their hand. I think music can and cannot make a poltica message. But they are writing songs to get a essage out there and i would say most succeed.

This Is America by Donald Glover is a song that has a political view. I think songs can have a political message and if people have a problem with it then they shouldn't listen to it.

I don't think songs should be political and some songs can motivate people to do things so I guess they can make a difference.

A political song would be Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds by the Beatles. There’s speculation it’s actually about LSD. Controlled substances are a political and controversial topic.

Fortune son by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Yes I think music should be used to forward political messages it is just another form of freedom of speech. I don't think one song is enough to make a difference because words alone aren't going to change anything.

There are a lot of songs with political messages. One from the top of my head would be "A change is gonna come." I think that songs can definitely rally people together but they won't change very much.

"Same Love," Macklemore
Relevant lyric: "The right-wing conservatives think it's a decision / And you can be cured with some treatment and religion." I think music is a powerful way to express yourself or to bring an issue to the public's attention.

I believe that all music can be used to not really change the world but to change the way that we see the world.

The Bigger Picture by lil baby, Keep Ya Head Up by Tupac, and Lost Ones by j Cole. I think that it helps spread a message to its listeners, and could teach a lesson because most people look up to music artist, or they depend on their music as a way to cope or the music helps them because it relates to their life. I think music does make a difference in the world because the bigger artist have a higher chance of being heard, and the rhythmic of the music becomes catchy so it gets spread around more and soon becomes a popular song with a message

Is the National Anthem a song with political messages? It's our country's song about being a free country and to take pride in being an American. I do not think music should be used to forward a political message. A song can make a difference in the world but it will not change the world and how we view the world.

Yes Fortunate Son. I feel that it can be but as long as its hiding it so that its not straightforward saying your views should be a certain way. I feel that songs can give people hope and inspire the. Yes I believe they can make a difference in the word.

Killing in the Name by Rage Against The Machine is a political song. I think that music is the most effective way of spreading a message. Because it can be used to put a person in another's shoes, it is very important in changing people's minds. Music makes a huge difference in the world, especially now that it is so easy to record and spread ideas around.

I think some songs definitely have meaning but I don't think people actually listen to the words its more of the beat. They have pretty much a song about everything so I don't for-sure have a song in mind.

Courtesy of the Red White and Blue by Toby Keith was a song about revenge from 9/11, it was swift to be heard from millions in America. It sends a political message that America will fight back stronger to terrorism on the states. Music can easily forward a political message. This song made a huge difference on the world as it showed that America won't back down.

Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine is a political song about police brutality. I think music should be used to inspire people. I think that if the right group of people hear a certain song it could inspire them to try to make a difference in the world.
