Some differences I noticed was the long ve interests in Beowulf and grendel mother. This shows that our society is more interested in romance and a hero and a villain then the actual story

Romance is very centered around our society and is in every crevasse in the media.

Some of the changes were Beowulf's weakness to beautiful women so that made him a liar in the movie. It shows that not every hero in a story is invincible and I think that shows that in this modern era we enjoy connecting to weakness rather than strength.

It was a lot more gruesome and a lot more nudity. Also it was more of a love story more than a hero story.

In the poem, Beowulf dies because of the dragon that bit him and died because of the poison in it, but in the film, he dies because he lost a lot of blood when he tried to kill the dragon by ripping his heart out when the dragon was trying to kill the queen. Grendels mom is also a suductive lady in the film. I think it shows how our society has gotten worse over the last few decades.

It's crazy to think of the new norms of today v.s. the past norms and what the ideals were.

The changes they have are trying to keep up and continue with the new trends. The movie would be super boring because the generations have changed. Its like how old music as like no words and is all the instruments and these days they have way more lyrics.

The differences that I noticed was that Beowulf fell for Grendels mother. I feel that nowadays we try to make the stories more modern.

Some of the differences between the book and the movie are the relationship between Beowulf and Grendel's mother, and the relationship with the queen. The movie and book are not completely the same.

There were a ton of differences between the book and movie. Mostly the movie was way more sexual than the book. Which shows that sex is more important in our society.

I think that Beowulf's weakness towards women is a reflection of how we view sex in our society. Beowulf is a hero but his specific character flaw is meant to justify our societal flaw.

The movie portrayed how violent war is and it helped make more personal connections with the characters. This shows that we need those connections to live normal lives.

in the movie Beowulf has a sex drive and has a history of being with women. He also lets things bug him, he isn't a big tough guy like the book insists

The biggest differences are the dramatic representations of love and lust. It shows our society low keys sucks.

Today we like to watch movies with characters who have a weakness, but in the book he didn't have any. The movie was more like a love story than a hero story like it's supposed to be.

In the movie it shows a lot of flaws that Beowulf has that wasn't said in the poem. He also has flashbacks from past fights and it's almost like he's being cursed.

In the movie Beowulf showed his weakness by giving a child to Grendel's mom and in the text/poem I didn't think he did. In today's society people choose weakness over strength I say this because it's a little more challenging to show our strengths and it's easier to show our weaknesses.

Beowulf had weaknesses in the movie unlike the poem and I think its that way because we are recognizing the qualities of a human.
