Media (journalism, advertisements, social networking, and entertainment) significantly influences thought in this society.

Media has been influencing people ever since 59BCE, when the first newspaper came out. People love to feel supported in their opinions, so they often listen to a newspaper or media post and try to agree with it. Even if it is something that one wouldn't usually agree with, they might conform to that opinion so that they feel like they are part of the majority.

Yes, media now is a huge part of our society. When it comes to trends, people will buy the trendy item to "fit in". The media has changed our thinking to be one person, not an individual.

I agree with this statement because anyone of these media has an influence on people because it is a way of intertainment. Especally now-a-days with higher technology power the media has significantly increased on the influence it gives to people all around the world. Media is used as a platform for other to agree on people's opinions all around the world.

I think depending the app or website people are influencing can depend. Like Instagram I feel is not the best way to influence others. Journalism and advertisements are great ways that have been influencing others for decades and some people make their best selves out of it. While others would see it and repost it in a not so influencing way. In the end if people could simply just take opionions calmly and respond nicely to them. Then almost every app and website would be wonderful. Though some could seek power, or something close to that.

I completely agree, Media is a huge part of society. The media and "influencers" influence so many bad things in our society. Younger children and even adults sometimes fall for social media traps and advertisement and it ha ruined our society.

I agree that it impacts us signficantly. The media can be positive, negative, and manipulative. We believe anything we read and we all gain the same opnion on things because we didn't see the whole picture. I think the media has become corrupt.

I agree that the media takes a big part in society today. People are constantly exposed to the media and its ideas. The media controls what people think by taking different angles of a story and bending it to make the story they want people to believe, and it works. We are constantly exposed to the media and our actions are influenced by it as well.

The media really does influence people. There are good ways and bad. Media either leads you in a bad way or a good way there is no in between. Most teens are affected by the media which makes them think they aren't enough or look "good enough" for society. There are good ways though that can teach you how to cook a dinner or how to do certain things you weren't taught.

Social media can be nagatively and positively influencing depending on what you're scrolling through, watching, or looking up. So many bad things come from social media; cyberbullying, body dismorphia, fear of missing out on life, depression, anxiety, mental illnesses, adiction, isolation, and so many more. The positive side to social media include; better communication, building relationships, growing businesses, and sometimes kindness. We are constantly being exposed to social media at a very young age and this can cause a lot of future problems.

To me, this statement is 100% right. I think that TikTok and Instagram and other social platforms where you can watch short videos are possibly some of the biggest influences in our society today. On those platforms, you can watch the videos, but you can also comment and post your own replies or separate videos. This compares to news networks on TV, where there are typically only two roles; the role of creating/ sharing the news and the role of just watching it. Also, the videos on social media are typically shorter which will get more views and spread easier.

Yes media plays a big part in how we think which is DUMB. Has anyone heard of propaganda, this relies on the consumption and belief of media. Most everything on media should be considered fake or altered. Sometimes I feel messages can go through the "telephone game" and come out the other end so different.

I absolute agree, there are so many statistics showing that after we started using social media there has been a huge impact on society. These statistics would show you how depression levels and mental heath conditions have risen significantly. The pressure of social media can be so hard for teenagers. If you were to compare the day to day live between someone know to someone before there was ANY sort of social media it would be so much different, there would be some similarities but not many.

Social media does influence the mass of people that keep up with news and posts, for example: The insurrection on Jan. 6th was organized through social media. Fake news is spread daily too, leading people to believe and say things that aren't true like conspiracy theorists.

I think that social media does influence the way we think and how society works because false news is spread daily throughout social media which causes people to spread the false news and most of the time it hides the truth.
