I think that some of the issues with the myths of Christopher Columbus is that he was the first one to discover the americas it was the Vikings and the natives. I think the idea of Columbus being honored is cute but it should be honoring someone else and not him.

He didn’t exactly discover America. There were people here before he was. Although he was the first one to discover it of the region he was from. Yes I guess so. We already have a day got it so why would you take it away. It was a big event in history.

I really like how you talked about how there were people who had discovered the land before him but that they weren’t from the same region.

Some issues are that he didn't originally discover the Americas there in fact were many people there before him. He also should not be celebrated because he cause many people to be killed an enslaved when he didn't get what he wanted.

Some issues with the myth are that Leif Ericson had discovered the new world prior to Columbus and that instead of wanting to discover new land Columbus wanted to discover gold or more money. I believe that if Columbus should be honored with a holiday than so should many other people because he did not do much greater things than other people have.

The issues are people listen to idiots. Then the idiots word becomes fact. Columbus Day should not be celebrated due to the fact that he didn’t discover North America. Erickson was the one who discovered it 500 years prior. Just because of that it should not be “celebrated.”

Some issues with this myth of Christopher Columbus discovering the Americans is that he is not actually the first one to discover it. No I don’t think we should be honoring him because it wasn’t him. It is not fair to Leaf Erickson the real founder.

I think we shouldnt make a day for Christopher Columbus. For one, that day belongs to someone else. Others discovered the land before him and we should be giving credit to the natives and Vikings. He also made some wrong choices, that I personally think should not be celebrated.

These myths make Christopher Columbus sounds like a brave explorer who found a whole to world to share with everyone. It also makes him sound like he discovered America when he actually discovered the Bahamas. I believe that Columbus should not be honored with a holiday because of all the turmoil and destruction he caused to the Native Americans.

I don’t if he should have his own day. The reason why I think this is because he has done a lot that Impacted what would happen in future. He founded The new world which is now the bahamas but he also used girls as rewards for sex slaves. So I’m im between.

Some issues with this myth is that Columbus was not the first to discover America because the Vikings already had. I really don’t think he should be honored because he never actually found the United States. I think we should just celebrate today as the beginning of the new era of colonization.

One of the issues with the myth that Columbus discovered america is that he was not the first but actually the last to discover it. I do not think that Columbus should be honored with a holiday because he didn't discover america and he cruelly took it from the native people.

Christopher Columbus never actually discovered the americas, and he took the natives who lived there, brutalized them, forced then into slavery, and took their riches. He was a really awful human being, and should not have is own holiday. Bartolomé Day has a much better ring to it.
