How does the children's view of Calpurnia change after their visit to First Purchase? When speaking or writing, why is it important to change your voice to suit your audience? Explain.

They realize that Calpurnia changes how she talks when she’s around different people. Everyone doesn’t talk the same. It’s like she knows two different languages. You wouldn’t talk Spanish to someone that only speaks English.

Their views change when they see her start talking like the rest of them talk. It is important to change your voice and tone according to your audience because you're never talking to the same person all the time. Also it makes it marginally easier to understand if you change the way you speak or write based on your audience

The children's view changed by seeing her with people who are similar to her. They are her friends and things. When writing, or even speaking in general, it's important to change your voice to suit your audience because if you are working somewhere, you aren't going to talk to your boss the same way you talk to your friends.

The kids view of Calpurnia changed because she would talk different to the black people then she did to the white. She did this because it is a different audience and most of the blacks aren't as educated. We need to do this in our writing because it is easier for the readers to understand if it is written for them.

They see cal change how she talks so she blends in with the crowd. So basically it can be better to blend in so people will not hate you specifically. For cal since she’s black people don’t like her. But if she’s an educated black person things would be worse

Scout and Jem realize that Calpurnia does more than just care for them, she has a life outside of caretaking. The kids start to understand that Calpurnia’s voice changes because she wants to fit in. It is important to change the way you talk when the audience changes because of the audience thinks that you talk more like them or have commonalities then they will be more willing to hear what you have to say.

Their view changed after visiting First Purchase because they learned more about Calpurnia’s life and about the way she lives when she isn’t around the Finches. They learn that she is a very knowledgeable for being a negro. It is important to change your voice to suit your audience because if you speak in the way that they speak it is easier for them to understand you and understand what you are saying.
