In chapters 2 and 3, Scout begins her public school career. What were your "first days" of school like? Think about your earliest school experiences and how they compare to Scout's.

My first few days of school were fun. It was new to me, so I enjoyed it. It wore off after a while though, and I got bored of it. Scout’s school experience started out bad, and she hated it. I think she will come to like it, but her teacher will be irritated by her.

I remember in middle school, when I was less invested in my education, I was super pumped on the first day of school because it meant all I had to do was show up to class and listen to the rules.

I remember my first year of school was pretty rough. I hated this girl and we got in a huge fist fight. We had to go to the guidance counselor for the rest of the year together. So I guess Scout and I both had a rough first experience.

I don’t really remember my first days of school but I probably hated them because I don’t really like school.

Like scout, I had a few bad years in my first years of school she felt like she was always getting in trouble and in my first years I got in trouble a lot and I always called my mom every morning and acted sick so I could go home.

I was ecstatic to start my first days of school, and I actually enjoyed them a lot. Mrs. Casterson was super chill so it was always a good time.

My first school experience was at a private school where I only had 3 subjects a day and lunch in the classroom. Unlike scout I didn’t get off on the wrong foot with the teacher but I was basically invisible cause she always forgot to hand me my papers. I also wasn’t in a class with other grades.

I remember being very reserved and not wanting to talk to anyone. The first friend I made was someone that I just went up to and asked if they wanted to be friends. Hehehe simpler times. I remember being a very bad student and not really paying attention in class at all

My first day of school was rather boring and I didn’t know anyone. The kindergarten was fun but I remember that I spent most of middle school hanging out with my friends and crush. They don’t as much compare to scouts days but they were still fun.

My first days of school were good because of all the snacks and recesses until I realized that school was tiring and sad and lots of work.

I was very excited for school and I loved every second of it. I talked to the teacher like scout did but I stayed on their good side. I don’t like school as much anymore though like scout

School used to be cool when we just showed up and took naps and are food. We just had recess all day. But not there’s a bunch of rules and you have so much homework. So, I used to be opposite of Scout and now I am more like her.

I started school at the Carmen school. It was very different there but it was nice because it was a smaller environment. Like scout I felt very scared but excited.
