The only thing that comes to my head is pride and predjudice and i don’t know what it means.
Haha me too Megan
Alright, I mean that works.😂
When I think of prejudice I think of hate. I think of not liking someone because of something they might of done. So prejudice that exists today can be seen all around us.
I agree with the word hate but it is hate with no reason
I agree. Prejudice is all over.
I’m not sure what that word means honestly, I’ve only ever heard it used as “pride and prejudice”
That’s a good movie.
When I think of prejudice I think of judge mental. One time of prejudice is judging someone before you know them.
That’s what I think too.
I agree with prejudice being judge mental
I agree, being judge mental is a part of prejudice.
Exactly, prejudice is just based on assumptions. We can’t be like Othello and jump to conclusions.
Prejudice makes me think about racism. People come of with their own idea of something that isn’t even factual. This is a problem because they are strongly convinced about something and it’s not even true. You should learn your facts before speaking out.
I agree. Prejudice is based on assumptions not facts.
Ya me to
I agree, racism is a top kind of prejudice.
Yes Racism is a root for prejudice.
When I hear the word prejudice, I think of unwarranted dislike or distaste for a person. To me, prejudice means to make generalizations instead of judging someone individually or personally.
Yeah pretty much.
When I think of prejudice i think of judging with out reason. An example is the democratic and republican parties. People vote on people based off of the party not who is the best candidate.
Yeah that’s true a lot of the time.
Politics is actually a really good example that I didn’t even think about until I read this.
Yah people always have an opinion on politics but don’t know anything about it.
When I hear that word, I think of the movie/book “Pride and Prejudice”, even though I’ve never seen or read it. Lots of minorities face prejudice today. Also high schoolers. They can be really mean and judgmental. Lookin at you Myah.
This is very true.
I’m just joking. I would’ve put anyone’s name there. I just decided to pick on you today Myah.
Is there some prejudice here?
I think prejudice is judging someone before you actually know them. Prejudice can easily be seen in schools when bullying.
School is a good example.
I think prejudice is hate toward someone without knowing them.
Typically I believe prejudice is coming up with an assumption about someone or something you’ve never actually met or delt with. Some forms of prejudice we still have are in politics, rumors, and just randomly hating someone for nothing.
Well first, I think of the movie “Pride and Prejudice”. Prejudice is an opinion not based on any real reason right? Yah I think so. I think of extremely frustrating English debates. Everyone tries to throw around big words and experiences that aren’t theirs so that they sound smart.
I’m sensing a little bit of heat........ get into any arguments lately?
I think prejudice points out how judging we are as a nation. It’s a form of hate we act towards each other. There are too many things to judge to name them all.
Your last sent nice really hit me....... it’s so sad that that’s the world we live in.
It would be very hard to name them all.
When I hear prejudice I think if judging before knowing all of the context. Dislike is another thing I think of when I hear that word or opinionated assumptions. This word means making assumptions or judging and that’s what I think of when I hear prejudice.
Very true! I feel the same way.
When I hear the word prejudice i think of an assumption that was made without any knowledge. An example could be discrimination against a certain group of people. Another is judging a certain sport when you haven't participated in it.
Yeah coming from a cross country runner.
I agree that prejudice is usually generalized over a big population
When I think of prejudice I think of pride and prejudice. Some different types of prejudice are racial, financial, social, and many others.
The movie is also certainly something that comes to mind.
I didn’t think about financial.
When I think of the word prejudice I think of a person having an opinion about something that they don’t know anything about. One example of this in our world today is politics, everyone has a certain opinion on politics when most people don’t know a single thing about it.
Politics are very controversial
I totally agree that politics is a form of prejudice. I think it would be very beneficial for the country if more people saw it that way
I agree with prejudice being opinionated
Probably the most obvious example of prejudice is racism however there are many different types. Prejudice is mostly based on surface level appearances. Prejudices are often made with disregard towards the truth, whether that be intentional or not.
I like how you described prejudice.
When I think of prejudice I think of someone having an opinion of something that they have only heard about and have never witnessed it in real life on their own.
That’s a good definition
When comes to mind is people making choices just because other people say or think things just to fit in. Its a decision or choice without reason. Some prejudice in today’s world is being raised to believe something and that’s what you think is right and don’t question it.
I agree with this statement.
I guess what comes to my mind when I think of prejudice is the movie Pride and Prejudice because my mom used to love that movie and watch it all the time. But I think prejudice is more of a grudge or something you hold against someone when you are thinking pridefully of yourself. I would say that some prejudice in our world today is how people see each other just based off of what they think they have done.
Prejudice can be tied in with miscommunication.
I also think that prejudice is often focused around people’s actions.
When I hear prejudice I think of judging. I also think of Beetlejuice because they kinda rhyme and they look the same. Prejudice that’s happened to me is when I first moved here and Janessa and I hated each other even though we had never even talked. But now we are best friends, so it’s all good.
When I here prejudice I think of the movie pride and prejudice. Some prejudices we have in the world today are when people move here we can always form our own opinion before talking to them.
One thing that first comes to mind when I hear the word prejudice is high school. Especially going to a new school. But hopefully prejudiced doesn’t last too long. Another example is politics towards the opposing parties or religion or race or gender. You name it. It’s everywhere because...some people.
When I think of the word prejudice I think of someone discriminating against a group of people. Many prejudices in our world are based off of looks, clothes, body-types, etc. I think that prejudice can be felt by many adults when they see a teenager on their phone because they always assume it’s a waste of time.
Exactly! I’ve never heard of ageism before. I thought you made it up, but I looked it up and it’s real.
I think you are right.
Yeah I didn’t think about the age factor.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
