Mean Girls (or Boys)

Othello is Iago’s frenemy (an enemy with whom one is friendly).  Discuss other frenemies in literature, movies, television shows, or your own life. What makes these sorts of villains intriguing? Why?

Hailey is my frenemy🙄😤 I act like I like her but I’m all reality she is annoying. Frenemies are intriguing because they are deceptive and pretent to be nice to get what they want. It can be interesting to watch.

There’s a junior that I’ve had beef with. They made me feel unimportant and jealous but I try to be nice to them because that’s what I would want if I was them. People like this are sometimes interesting because you don’t know what they’re thinking.

The idea of frenemies is very toxic but we all have one. Frenemies add a sort of entertainment to the plot and keep the person reading/watching stay into the story. I’ve had a few that I knew were pretending to like me and I have a few currently. Typically I try to stay away from them.

There are many frenemies in our world today, and they are very frustrating. Nathan is the closest thing to similar to a villain, like once upon a time he shoved my head in the deep snow and my face went cold.

A Frenemy that I find intriguing is Regina George. Regina George is such a literal queen and always has a smile on even when she’s silently judging someone else’s choice of clothing. She’s very intriguing because of how well she puts on a straight face.

In the books I’ve read, usually the frenemy is revealed at the end, and the characters are hurt because they were so friendly and close to them. It’s usually a plot twist, and seeing their motives is interesting. If I reread the book, I get to look at their actions differently, and it’s cool to see the story again with a new mindset.

I like the stories when they are revealed at the end a lot more than at the beginning. It allows us to relate to the protagonist a lot more

Frenemies in books, movies, and tv shows are similar in some senses but not in others. They are interesting just for this reason because their differences and similarities give them each unique rolls in every telling and story.some frenemies deceive people (like Iago) and others are frenemies only because of an alliance to kill an enemy of both of theirs.

Frienemies ar intriguing to us because we know what they are doing but other people are oblivious to what the person is doing.

I think a good example is Sharpay and Gabriella in high school musical. What makes frenimy relationships in tv interesting is the tension.

I don’t remember any frenemies either in a story or in my life. When I do read about them I find the intriguing because their choices make me so mad. I can’t handle people pretending to be nice then talking trash behind someone’s back. To me this is one of the worst things to do to someone. If you don’t like them let them know it instead of being fake.

Madeline

Frenemies are interesting people. I find they are most common around those they know they can pick on without any retaliation because they can’t defend themselves or they’re afraid to. In the musical Aida, Captain Radames and his father are frenemies. His father is a liar and secretly planning an overthrow while putting on a face in front of his son so he doesn’t find out his evil schemes. Frenemies re intriguing because why be so two faced when you don’t have to? Why be so rude and fake when there’s no reason besides self doubt? They shouldn’t take it out on others.

Some well known frenemies are Gollum from LoTR. These villains are not very common because they are very complex and require a lot of progression to make good in a literary sense. They are intriguing because they are often charismatic and we want to like them except for the fact that they are bad. They are often very effective villains because they can’t be touched due to the proximity to the protagonist. I personally don’t like them very much because I just hate them so much and it is frustrating that they take so long to be found out and taken care of
