What do the sun and summer often represent in works of fiction? Why do you think we have these associations? What are some songs that talk about summer and/or sun? Do these tend to be happy or sad songs?

The summer and the sun usually represent a happy time. It gives us a good comparison to what happy is. A song I thought of was “Here Comes The Sun” by George Harrison. They tend to be happier songs when they are about the summer or the sun.

Summer typically is happy and warm. It represents freedom and sunny days at the beach. We typically think of this as happy because school is out and we can get a little time off. I don’t know the artist but when I came in, Here comes the sun was on. Most songs about summer are happy or remembering good times.

Summer in fictional works often represents a sense of safeness or the end or very beginning of a book, where things have not changed yet or when the trials are over and you have a changed continuation of the beginning. Summertime by My Chemical Romance is a happier song of the band. Songs about the sun or summer tend to be happier.

Summer and the sun tend to represent warmth, happiness and fun times. I think we have these connections because it’s true. Some people view Winter as a depressing time. The lack of vitamin D is certainly a factor. The only song that comes to my mind is “here comes the sun.”

Sun and summer normally represent happiness and good times. I think we see it this way because we typically are doing more fun things in the warm weather and in daylight, children are also out of school. The song “Here comes the sun” by the beetles is a song about it getting warm. These songs tend to be happy and joyful because people celebrate nice sunny warm days.

Sun or summer usually represents happiness or freedom. We have these associations because in summer we have the freedom to do fun things. In sunny weather we can do more than in rainy weather. A song that talk about summer/ sun is Summer from Frozen. These songs are mostly happy.

Summer represents paradise. It is the climax of our year. During the summer people seem to finally “bloom”, or reach their full potential.
Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles, Tomorrow from “Annie”, and California Girls by The Beach Boys. They tend to be happy songs

We have these sort of expectations in the summer because we are free from school and we lack the want to do much of anything. We will often experience new things and seek for something better. A song that talks about summer is In Summer from Frozen and it a very happy song.

Summer often represents freedom, fun, and adventure in fiction books. I think summer is associated with these things because once school is out, we all feel free and our excitement is immeasurable. The first song that came to mind when I thought of summer was “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond. This song always plays during my brother’s baseball games, so for me it always represents fun and happy memories.

Some songs would includes here comes the sun and summer time sadness. These songs tend to have a more up beat or happy tone.

The sun is usually associated with warmth because it’s, well, warm. Summer is all about freedom and adventure because we don’t have school and that’s the time to do all the fun activities. Since the sun is up during the day, it can also represent waking up or getting things done or fufulling your goals and moving forward with your life. One song that talks about summer is “Summer Nights” from the musical Grease. It’s about a summer romance.

In world of fiction, summer and sun often represent happy joyful moods of a character or characters. Or In some cases it can be the sun is shinning in spite of a characters mood. We associate sun with happy emotions typically because the sun is bright and confident. We usually connect these “actions” with cheerful outlooks. Some songs that talk about summer or sun are “Walking on Sunshine”, and “You Are My Sunshine”. These are both happy songs, one of them being enduring toward a loved one.

Summer is most commonly associated with rest or ease. Here Comes the Sun is a very popular song about the Beatles that has a overall good feeling to it. It brings a feeling of hope almost as they say “here comes the sun, it’s alright.” Darkness is worldly excepted to represent confusion so the opposite of darkness, light, brings understanding and peace.

In some of the books that I have read they represent times in the characters life when it wasn’t as bad as it is for them now such as their childhood. I think we have these to these to give a deeper understanding of what the character is going through. Here come the sun by The Beatles. They are usually happy and uplifting songs.
