I don’t know any banned books. The only thing that comes to mind is when Harry Potter and his friends go to the banned books section in the library at Hogwarts.

Oh, and I think they should be banned. If the majority of people think it is too negative to read, then it’s probably better if it’s banned.

I agree. If the book is not benefitting the reader at school, then I think it should only be read during personal free time.

I don’t remember any books ever being banned in school or libraries. I don’t believe books should be banned. Anyone should have the right to read any books that they want. You should be free to read whatever you want whenever you want to. What’s so bad about books?

I don’t remember any specific books but I know many books about controversial subjects such as racism, sexism, and slavery/women’s rights. Some schools are libraries don’t allow some because of different opinions. I do t think books should be banned because everyone should hear different ideas and opinions

I have never heard of banned books week. I do think that books should NOT be banned though. Everyone should have the right to read whatever they want in school, unless it’s sexually explicit. If you’re mature enough you can read about things maturely.

I think if a book is for a more mature audience, it shouldn’t be banned. We as a society and as individuals should be responsible and stay away from that if we feel it wouldn’t benefit us.

I guess you could say Harry Potter, but obviously if they’re banned I can’t read them, so I don’t really know any. I feel like books shouldn’t be banned, because if they’re too gruesome to read, why let them become published to begin with? Also, if you don’t want to read it, just don’t read it. Maybe some people do. You have your freedom to read what you want.

The whole idea of banning books isn’t to shield the community from specific content but to discourage encourageing certain ideas like euthanasia.

I believe that certain books are for certain audiences. One book isn’t going to be for everyone, and we shouldn’t try to make it that way.

The book “To Kill a Mockingbird” has been banned in certain schools because of some profanity and racial slurs. I understand banning certain books from schools or libraries, because they may not be appropriate in those settings. Also, even if books are banned at school or at a library, you can still gain access to those books via the internet or book stores. I don’t strongly agree or disagree with banning books or not banning books, but I understand both points of view.

I think I remember “To Kill A Mockingbird” was challenged when I was in middle school. I don’t think books should be banned. Maybe certain books for projects shouldn’t be allowed but I don’t believe that a book should be banned. Banning books deprives kids of culture and maybe even finding their favorite book.

I remember when my cousin told me how they banned some books at their school and so she had to stop reading her book, I forgot what book it was. Other than that I do not know of any books that have banned. It mostly depends on the book for if it should be banned or not I think.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” was banned as well as the “Harry Potter” series. I think there is an extent to which books should be banned. Most books are taken out of libraries due to religious content and strong language. Most families and communities try to keep book content at least PG. But with times changing this can be very hard considering that cultures and life trends are changing.

I don’t know of any banned books, but I looked some up. Most of them could be seen as offensive in some way. I feel like most books are banned because of things like violence, homosexuality, different religious beliefs...... stuff that we don’t like to talk about. I do not believe books should be banned. This is ‘MERICA. If you don’t like a book..... don’t read it.

One banned book I’ve read is The Hate U Give which is about recent polic racism and has contents like, drugs, violence, etc. I don’t think books should be banned. We should be able to allow these books in school library’s. People should have the choice to read it or not and if they find offensive then it was their fault for reading it in the first place. Authors write books with the freedom to tell any story and so they should also have the freedom to have their book in places to be read.

Of Mice and Men and Fahrenheit 451 have been banned. I definitely understand the thought about banning books from schools but I do not think that it is right to. Most books that are censored are do not support the ideas that they are censored for. Instead they just present the controversial ideas.
