A sudden change I have experienced is when my Mom told me I would be going to West J. I’d lived in Salmon my whole life, so I didn’t really know what being the ‘new kid’ was like. It was weird. But I came back so yeah.

Being the new kid doesn’t feel very great in my opinion.

Being the new kid is fun to me. I’ve moved so many times in my life that I like being a new kid. You get a fresh start. But I’m not going anywhere until I graduate, which is great because now I know what it’s like to have really close friends I stay with and get to hav a lot of memories with them.

I’ve experienced a few sudden changes, and most of them made me feel overwhelmed more than anything. When I go through change, I don’t handle it very well. I would rather things stay relatively normal.

This quote means when your daily routine is suddenly not the same as it’s always been it can be shocking or stressful. I haven’t experienced any huge change that quickly altered my daily life. But, as most of us have I’ve had small things change in my normal schedule and force me to adapt to them, which can be uncomfortable at times. When this happens it makes me feel stressed and worried if I will ha doe the change the right way.

It’s like when someone says, “your mom died in a car crash.”, and your body goes into denial. You can’t bear to think it’s true, so you just tell yourself it’s not. I have exeperienced a great and sudden change when my mom said that she was getting a job at West Jefferson, and I had to go to school there for a semester. It was shocking. I didn’t think she was serious. But deep down, I really knew she actually was. I was scared. I didn’t want to go someplace new. I’ve never been out of salmon. I would have to make all new friends. It took a long time to accept.

That would be really difficult having to change schools, especially when you had always lived in Salmon. I’m sure you’re glad it was only a semester and that you’re back home.

I believe this means when something is different it takes time to adapt to a different situation. We feel out of place and don’t know what to do and it feels like your lost. A great and sudden change I have experienced was the transition from a half of a day school (kindergarten) to a full day (1st grade). I felt confused and I didn’t know what to do.

For me, adjusting to change is very hard. For example, recently we got a foreign exchange student. It was very hard at first because we had to share a room and neither of us had needed to before. It put me in such a crabby mood that none of my family wanted to talk to me. So I definitely agree with the quote.

The human mind is accustomed to routine and order, and when change enters our lives we get uncomfortable. Our routines are our comfort zones, and when change throws routine out the window, we have to learn how to adapt. A sudden change for me was switching from volleyball to cross country, and at first the change was not fun. But after awhile it became my routine and now I enjoy it.

The greatest change I’ve experienced was living in California for 12 years and then coming to salmon. I had to leave all friends I’d known since preschool as well as all of my family. I accepted the change but I experience a lot of problems with other people because of where I’m from and other issues.

I experienced a “Great and Sudden” change when I had just moved to a new city in North Carolina after living there for four years. Three months after I moved there and getting settled I learned we had to move to fricken Salmon Idaho. Almost everything about my old town is opposite to this one. I took a while I get used to, but after I while I’ve learned to love this town.

I think that the meaning of this quote would be that after we get used to something and then something big happens and it isn’t the same anymore we have pain and miss whatever happened before the change. One large change that I went through was I moved across the country five years ago. When I moved I didn’t know anyone and I was having trouble being away from friends and family this made me feel very alone.

Yes I have. I moved to salmon from a big city. While it was nice to be more secluded physically, “secrets”and personal information were exposed more quickly. Adapting to having everyone know everything about me was alarming and weird. But over the space of three years you learn to not acknowledge the small things and that has really helped.

I find that in small towns people can be more personally invested in others which can cause people to know more about you which can be weird but it can also be easier for others to care about the people around them which can be very nice.

I think that we as humans naturally seek to be comfortable and change is commonly known as the opposite of comfort. I have moved many times and two of them I moved the day before school started. One of those two times I went from a 250 people elementary school to a 1,500 person middle school. I felt very very stressed and every day for a long time I longed for the comfort of that small town elementary school. Looking back on it though I am very grateful for it because it has made me grow so much, in all aspects of my life.

I think the hardest thing about change is that it usually comes unexpectedly and suddenly. One of the biggest changes in my life was when my grandfather died. After he was gone, it was so strange to go to my grandparent’s house and not see him there. As a kid, I had just always assumed he would be there. That experience changed how I see time and taught me to cherish what I have before it’s gone.

I understand the quote because sudden change can bring great despair. Leaving everything to sudden change can leave you hopeless with no feeling of joy. Overcoming change involves fitting in to the new environment you are in this can be very hard and takes time.

When faced with a big change your mind does not know how to coope with it and it is hard to make intelligent decisions. A change that was big for me is when mr Anderson made me learn how to play tuba to a high school level in 2 months. I was very negative about having to do this. I made it seem harder than it actually was.

A great and sudden change that happened was when my sister got married last year. It was really crazy because now our family will never be the same and we have added a family member. It made me feel happy that my sister was so happy but it was also really realizing that my life was changing when she moved to Texas after the wedding.

I have had a few great and sudden changes and yes it is hard to readjust to the new changes. Some changes can be painful but not all of them can be. Some can just push you out of your comfort zone and it takes a while to get back. One change I had is when my parents got divorced and then when they started dating other people. It was hard to adjust but know I couldn’t imagine my life another way.

I think that one of the biggest changes for anyone including me is death. I am not being dark but when anyone dies especially family it is a shock and changes your whole life. When my brother past away it took sometime to get “used to”, along with this topic I think that you should always be greatful for what you have, you never know when or what is going to change in your life.
