The similarities is the plot is exactly the same. A lot of the same scenes are represented on both. Differences are the movies seems to be going way faster and skipping some parts. What’s surprising to me is that how different the neighbors are portrayed in the book compared to the movie.

The court case started much sooner in the movie. I think this is because it was a highlight of the story so they wanted to make it a bigger deal. I imagined it happening much faster than it actually does.

Yeah the movie is moving exponentially faster than the novel.

During the movie they have Mr. Radley fill in the whole in the tree with cement in front of the children instead of having them find the whole already filled. Also the speed up the story in the movie compared to the book so it isn’t as long.

They had to make differences because if they didn’t the movie would be exponentially longer. A difference in what I imagined is scouts hair and outfits is much more Tom boy. I thought she would have longer hair and wear dresses.

I thought Atticus and Calpurnia would look different. And they made changes to the movie to most likely save time and those things probably weren’t that important

One thing I noticed about the movie was that it didn’t really show the significance of the children finding gifts in the tree. The book made the event of them finding presents very prominent but the movie only showed them receiving a few things.

So far some of the similarities are Scout and Jem meet Dill, they try seeing Boo, the kids still go to the trial, Atticus still makes it evident that Bob Ewell is guilty, and many more. A few differences are Dill didn’t make up an excuse where they were after Jems pants stuck to the fence, Atticus had Tom Robinson try to catch something to demonstrate his disability, Jem and Scout are at the tree while Boo’s father filled the tree with cement and more.

They left out so many events in the movie and the ones that are in there are out of order from the book. Some similarities are that they still had the trial and most of the speaking parts are the same. I knew the movie was not gonna be anywhere near the same as the book because that’s how it always works

Some of the changes were cutting out the scene with Scout’s encounter with her teacher on the first day of school, when all the white men tried to make Atticus move so they could kill Tom Robbinson. They made some of these changes so the movie wouldn’t be too long and boring. I thought the main characters would look different, especially Atticus and Dill.

One of the biggest differences is how fast it’s moving. They’re also skipping a few things and showing the highlights. One big difference is the neighborhood I expected it to look different.

The book and movie were similar plot wise and following with similar events but, there are few small tweaks and events changed in the movie campared to the book. Characters were also given a different look in the movie than the book had described.

The main plot and order of events in the story and movie are the same, but during the movie they add a few extra details and take some away. For example, Tom Robinson’s arm isn’t short in the movie but Atticus also throws a jar for him to catch with his useable arm.

One difference I noticed is that the kids didn’t find as much in the tree trunk. Another difference was, like most books made into movies, parts of the story were missing. The movie also briefly touches on certain things that were more in-depth in the book.

Some differences that I noticed was how they didn’t find much in the tree. Mr. Radley also filled it up in front of them. Probably did this scene so fast so they can have more time for the trail.

In the in the film, Mr. Radley fills the tree with concrete in front of the children, while in the novel he fills in when they are gone. They did this to show the audience that Mr. Radley is mad at the children and Arthur. This was different to my own imagination, because in my mind I visualized this scene in an isolated place not in a busy neighborhood.

The one big difference is the things the kids find in the tree trunk. Another difference is that’s e hardly see or hear Scout and Jen during the trial in the movie. It was basically how I imagined it to be.

Some similarities were that boo left them the soap carvings in the tree and it ended up getting filled. I’m the book it doesn’t happen the first time they find something. I think they made changes like this in the movie because the book was very detailed and they needed ways to save time.

The plot and order of events were the same in the book in the movie. The trial came a lot sooner in the movie than in the book. This was probably because the producers wanted to get to the main part of the story faster.
