Are attention spans better or worse than they've been in the past?  Explain your opinion.

They are worst because we have so many more things to destruct us and entail us. We either get distracted or just really don’t care.

I’d say my attention span as gotten better because I know when I have to listen and when I don’t have to listen.

I think they are worse because there is so much going on around us that people can’t stay focused for long periods of time. No one pays attention to what they are doing because there is always something bigger and better going on.

Attention spans are worse now than the past because we are so use to seeing something new everyday that we are kind of desensitized to new information and don’t find it as interesting.

idk I wasn’t alive in the past and I have no archives that tell me if people paid more attention back in the day, I think they’d be worse cuz you’d be for example, driving your wagon thru Nebraska and whilst your watching ur head of cattle u have to stay on the trail and look for Navajos and stuff tryna kill ya and steal ur herd.

Attention spans are worse because everyone is in such a rush anymore because of work or kids. And for kids especially technology has made our attention spans worse because everything is very fast pace and straight to the point

Attentions spans are worse than they have been in the past. People have really bad attention spans now, they can barely pay attention to one thing for a couple seconds without getting distracted

In a way we aren’t as patient when it comes to buying things and wanting them right away. But in day today attention spans it depends on the person and how they are raised and what them need to pay attention to.

I think that they are worse than they used to be. Life is moving in a faster pace and we don’t often spend too much time on one thing. We have no reason to be patient and have long attention spans because by the time we start getting bored with something we are already onto the next.

They have gotten worse. We have so many distractions, one of them is social media. Most of us would rather be on our phones then pay attention to what’s actually going on.

Reply
Caden Caywood
10/24/2018 01:22:39 pm

I think it really depends on what it is you’re supposed to be paying attention on. Kids now a days will pay attention to their phones all day yet can’t focus enough to get a project done in school. Also, in the past young men would work hard to get a job done and wouldn’t stop until it was finished. It really just depends on what it is.

I think it’s gotten worse because back in the old days people relied on face to face contact to talk to one another, but in today’s society all we have to do is pick up a device and send someone a message in seconds.
