Daily Literary Quote
“In essence the Renaissance was simply the green end of one of civilization’s hardest winters.”
                                                                              - John Fowles, The French Lieutenant’s Woman

Journal Prompt
Discuss a contemporary person (at least 20th century) you think is an ideal “Renaissance Man” (or Woman!) – someone who is accomplished in many disciplines, such as science, art, music, math, dance, acting, etc. – and why.

The person I think is a Renaissance Man is Mel Gibson. He is a talented singer, and he is also a very talented actor. He also directs many famous movies that are very deep and meaningful.

I think that Johnny Cash is a great example of a "Renaissance Man". He is a very talented singer, song writer, musician and actor. He is my favorite singer and he is very famous.

The Rock because he is an actor, business man, former professional wrestler. Many people look up to The Rock figuratively and literally.
