Situational irony is when the situation is ironic. Like Yeezma from the Emperor's New Groove when she took all the potions. Dramatic Irony is when the audience knows what's happening, but not the character(s). Like any scary movie. Verbal Irony is saying something that is the opposite of what we mean. For instance, when characters from shows talk about how great the weather is when it's raining.

Situational Irony is when the situation isn't what you think its going to be. Dramatic Irony when the audience knows something the characters don't. Verbal Irony is sarcasm. A scene from a scary movie where the audience knows whats in the closet and the character doesn't.

Situational irony is irony with a situation in it. An example is in the movie Sixth Sense when the boy can see dead people and identifies the main character. Dramatic irony is when something happen and a reader knows but the character doesn't. An example is Jaws the people watching it knows the shark is coming but the people swimming do not. Verbal irony saying something and meaning something else. An example is Shrek when donkey asks to say with him and Shrek says of course and then Shrek says no (sarcasm).

There is verbal irony and example of that would be stepping into a hurricane and saying "Nice weather we are having". An example of situational would be a fire station burning down. Finally the last example is dramatic like when romeo killed himself when he thought juliet died but we know she didn't.

The three irony we discussed yesterday were situational, drama and verbal irony. In the movie the Sixth Sense Cole says he can see dead people then the main character turns out to be dead. An example of Dramatic irony is any horror movie. Verbal Irony is any sarcastic comment.

The three types of irony are situational irony, dramatic irony, and verbal irony. Hercules when he doesn't drink the last drop of the potion is an example of situational irony. An example of dramatic is Romeo and Juliet. Verbal irony is the most common in any movie it is sarcasm, an example is Shrek.

Situational - A situation is different than normally expected. Fiona falls in love with Shrek, an orge, instead of Lord Fraquaad.
