The film highlights beowulfs weaknesses better instead of making him the perfect hero and adapts well into todays society

The film lacks some of the details that are in the poem. It also adds different things and changes the story to be more presentable to the people.

The book goes into more depth than the movie and the fight between Beowulf and Grendel's mom was complete different from one another.

The books always go into more detail about things than movies do.

I think that they way they talk in the story and the text are the most different. When it was first written it was in a completely different language so translating it I'm sure there was a big difference. I think that in todays society to sell a movie they have to add in the elements that they did. Not that I think it is right all the time.

The film doesn't hit all the points that was in the Beowulf text. We don't include everything.

While the book was very plain and to the point with the adventure, the movie goes more into the detail of a hero which isn't so perfect. I think it displays our views as a society because the more we relate to something the more we like it.

For starters, Beowulf doesn't get funky with Grendel's mom in the book. He also doesn't marry Wealtheow in the book. Society changes things in order to be more appealing to others. In order to make a movie everyone would like, they put in things that didn't really have to be in there.

The movie was way different from the text. They changed the movie so that people would buy it. They also changed it so the movie would be more entertaining to viewers.

There are a lot of differences between Beowulf the book and movie. One of the major differences is that in the book Beowulf kills Grendel's mother but in the movie he sleeps with her. That means in the book Beowulf never had a son but in the movie he had a son with Grendel's mother.

The film used seductive imagery to keep people watching. Beowulf is shown to be more weak in the movie.

The book and movie split ways when Beowulf meets Grendel's mother. The book reflets the epic the film takes a different more Hollywood style of events. The changes in the film show what people want to see I our current times.

The film brings more detail without stating the detail itself. It makes it seem Beowulf is a more human-like character which makes it more likable and relatable to our society today.

In my opinion Beowulf didn't sound like the super hero he is in the story. Nor does he have coitus with Grendel's mom in the book so there was a lot of differences in later dates of the story that changes a lot but for the most part the beginning was fairly close.

the movie had a lot of inappropriate clips that showed more seductive attitude where as the book was more about the action and didnt really show things like that. however das they say in hollywood sex sells. In society we now are about parties, sex and drugs. you can see this in a lot of teen movies now. ex. Mean Girls, Love Simon, Clueless... ect. We have become a very superficial and shallow society.

The movie removes plot holes in the poem, and it adds weaknesses to the hero. This shows that society changes stories/tales to appeal to their generation. The movie also gets rid of some of the aspects from the poem.
