I think we control the past and the future because it’s our life choices and whatever we do reflects on ourselves. We make mistakes in the past to be better in the future. I think the quote means it’s ok to make mistakes or leave your past behind and move forward.

Yes. If you're in control of the now, you can rewrite the past, and people look to the past for the future. If you rewrite the past so you're never wrong, you are the future.

The past helps teach us what does and does not work as a society and it's up to us in the present to chose how we learn from our past and create a new past for the future. I agree.

The quote means the people in charge right now are going to influence what the people are going to believe about the past and present. I agree, the people who tell us what's going on right now are the ones who make history such as the president or people on social media.

If we forget the past we will repeat it I agree cause while we are in the present we are creating the past but the past can decide what will happen in the future.

I agree completely with what it is saying. It means people who control what is being taught and shared can control the past and the present. For an example if a teacher who is in the present teaching thy can influence what actually happened forcing control over the past.

It sounds like it is referring to our choices and what we are capable of turning ourselves into. I agree that our choices our ours to make how we want and they will determine our past, present and future selves. When it refers to who controls the present controls the past is referring to how stories are told. They can be changed through time.

A person who controlled the past made their decisions to affect the future. We in the present control the past by how we decide to reflect on it. We choose our future and we can’t change the past but we can change our perspective.

I agree because those who control the present can control what others know about the past. For example they could make their own past or destroy old records. Am example was when the catholic church controlled their present and had their own ideas of the past that everyone needed to follow. By doing that it controlled the future.

Those who control the past control the future because their actions have consequences and lead to other actions taken in the future. Those who control the present control the past by controlling what information is correct about the past. They can hide what actually happened and make up things that didn’t happen.

I completely agree with the quote in a whole. If one person in the present decides to cipher the past in a way that they desire, could change how the past actually happened. When the past is happened they were the present but now they future “learns” from the past which means in the end the past controls the future.

It means that if one controls the past they also control the future because everything you do in the past will have an effect on our future. The future is defined by people from the past. As well as for the people who control the present, control what is/can be remembered from what happened in the past.
