"Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Journal Prompt Explain the above quote. Why are "sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity" so dangerous? If Dr. King were alive today, what do you think he would say about the state of racism and human rights in the United States?

We’re all ignorant but we don’t see it until our actions are already done. We can damage others without knowing. If he was alive today we would probably say we’re all equal because we all are equal there’s no difference in a race and we can be the same. We all of our own qualities that will stand out and make us who we are.

If he were alive today I think he would be disgusted with how the U.S. went about wanting change. He wouldn’t be happy seeing riots and watching them burn down black owned businesses. He accomplished a lot without hurting anyone so I think he’d be disappointed with the violence

We as humans are more focused on themselves rather than others. We don’t involve ourselves in things that don’t first hand involve us to make our lives easier if Dr. King were alive today I feel as if his words early on in the current state of human rights and racism could have prevented this level of issue. He was wise and was able to reach a large amount of the population. He also spoke in an understanding way to all.

They are the thinking of knowing it is wrong on the inside but still denying to change anything. To stick with old customs and beliefs instead of changing. If Martin Luther King was around today I believe he would not think their is a race problem as much as there is a controversy between peoples belief. He would try to unite everyone in the nation without even including race and just describing everyone as citizens.

Ignorince is bad because in this time you cant be spreding misinformation simply because you don't want to educate yourself. And I think that he would be disappointed in the state of racism in this country. As much as people want to preach that we are all equal that simple isn't true.

He would be happy, because equality has come very far since then. He would see how social media has made people less ignorant of racism going on across the US. Although he would see nomatter what time your in their are stupid people.

They are dangerous because both lead to strong hostilities and possibly escalate into violence over the differing opinions, particularly since nobody wants to hear the other’s statements.

If MLK was alive today I think he would absolutely be outraged that racism is still going on at the extremes that it is especially when it comes to police brutality. MLK would however be proud that people are trying to make a change. I think he'd also be impressed that there was an African American president and that racism has since decreased since his time.

Ignorance and stupidity are dangerous because in society we really don’t think before we react. Dr. King would be upset at everyone for forgetting what America is all about

Ignorance can be dangerous when people agree with something without knowing the possible consequences of such decisions. I think he would be very disappointed with how America is today, the riots and everything that has happened these few months.

Ignorance and stupidity will completely smother all other actions. If you are angry and just focus on the bad you will not see the good in things. I feel that Dr King would be proud of how far we have come as a society, but dissapointed at the same time because of the riots that happened over the summer. He believed in peacefull protest.

It’s dangerous because when you turn a blind eye to a problem that problem doesn’t get solved and it gets worse. If Dr. King came back to the United States he would have mixed feelings because black people have rights and they aren’t oppressed. Dr. King peacefully protested and got his point across but some organizations think burning down buildings will get people to listen when all they are doing is destroying what Dr. King really stood for.

The term is dangerous because it means we aren't reacting properly to situations. The problems become worse than they should be. If Dr. King were alive today he would be upset with how the change has come and the consequences of people's actions trying to gain equality.

If he was alive right now he would be very displease of what is happening to the US right now. With how they changed things but not changing most of the aspects. He accomplished a lot and made everybody fight for what they believe in, but with today how they are burning down things, fighting. The world hasn’t changed and is getting worse.

I feel if Dr. King came back he would be disappointed in today’s society and how they had taken a peaceful protest that Dr. King started and turned it into a violent protest that we saw over this summer.

We all have moments of ignorance, some more than others. It’s what you do with that ignorance that determines whether or not it is stupid. If you learn from the ignorance and improve upon it then that is learning. If you continue to be ignorant then it becomes a constant cycle that quickly becomes stupidity. “ignorance is bliss” is a poor choice of words if you think about it, it may seem nice at the time but it’ll come back to bite you in the end.

It’s dangerous because we aren’t acting how we should be. We react to situations so differently. He accomplished a lot. He also showed everybody to follow there dreams. Today’s world we are burning down buildings and in riots. Some things haven’t changed from back then.

Usually people say ignorance is bliss but in King’s perspective that is not the case. When someone is ignorant by choice and not looking to find truths that is when it gets dangerous. If he came back to life today he would be disappointed in our society for trying to settle our arguments with violent protesting.

All of humanity is ignorant and “stupid” in their own way. We are focused on our own actions which hurt others. If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today I think he would be confused. The world is getting to the point to being all equal but groups and beliefs are making it more difficult than it needs to be.
