The movie took many liberties adding in details and events that were not in the book or poem. One of which being the dragon cup that the king give Beowulf

The film of Beowulf has many differences from the book. The first one is Beowulf has a son with Grendels Mother. The book talks about Hrunting a lot more then the film does.

The book was confusing because it was in old English and I didn’t understand it. The movie went in depth with all the details towards the book.

A different that I noticed was the interpretation of the characters grendel and grendels mother. In the book they seemed to have a monsters emotion and mentality but in the movie they have more visible humanity. This expresses the changes in our society because our imagination is so wide that not everyone interprets things the same.

Some of the major differences are how they show the characters. Grendel was a monster but not the horned creatures we see in the books version. There was also major changes during specific events. Beowulf didn't kill Grendal's mother when he told everyone he had and she turned into the dragon. These changes show that our current society is romance based and doesn't always focus on the historical aspects.

Some differences are that the story board in the poem flows a lot more than the movie. Also that beowolf doesn’t kill the mother. It relates to today’s society because people change their story just so others like the idea of them.

The main difference is that Beowulf is seduced by Grendels mother. In the book he kills her. Society nowadays makes many audience members want a more mature or even inappropriate film.

In the movie Beowulf is persuaded by Grendals mother not to kill her and instead made a baby with her. This is an example on how easily it is to make bad decisions and that they do have consequences.

In Beowulf he died from a bit to the neck and in the movie he cut off his arm a fell from a high place when he killed the dragon. Our society something powerful is supposed to happen to the main character and he would live or do something heroic.

My opinion the book and move were a lot different especially with grendels mom. It wasn’t supposed to be a love story how it was in the movie. The changes are connected to our society because no movie or anything is complete without sexual interaction or a love story. A good books without any sexual connection can’t be turned into a movie with out any either and have the audience still think it is good.

The movie is a lot different than the book. For starters, Beowulf killed grendel's mother in the book, but had a kid with her in the movie. In the book he also didn't lose the sword but in the movie grendel's mother got rid of it.

A lot of things were different between the movie and the novel that I didn’t expect. Including the dragon and Beowulf’s friend the novel made it seem like he was young not old. It relates to our society now with how everything has to be sexualized for people to watch, or how there has to be a lot of drama when it wasn’t like that during the poem.

During the movie the writers of the script had to had in a “juicier” storyline for the end of the story. They added the affair between the kinds and grendel’s mother.

The characters in the movie especially Grendel and his mother were portrayed very differently. In the movie they're more human like but in the book they are described as demons and more animal like it seems.

The movie Beowulf was different from the book in ways such as the movie showed more pornagraphic depictions of a lot of the characters that were not explained. Beowulf fighting Grendel’s mother didn’t kill her and instead made a deal with her that was different from him killing Grendel’s mom with an enchanted sword. The dragon in the end of the book was not Beowulf’s son it was just a dragon that was awoke by someone stealing treasure. He was also bitten in the neck and died of dragon poisoning instead of falling off a cliff with his arm cut off. They also added a horn piece of treasure that glowed that wasn’t in the book

Some differences in the book and novel are Grendels mom. Also how Beowulf does not kill her like he does in the book. The movie tries to be more modern then the book so it’s easier to follow along too.

The book and movie, in my opinion were two different stories/plots. One big difference that stood out to me was when Beowulf, instead of killing Gendel's mother, made a deal with her. The movie shows that our society needs an entertaining story to keep interested and how our society needs a "happy ending".

In the movie he just made up the story of killing Grendel's mother. In the book he actually killed her. In the book he was a Geat helping the lord of the Danes, since he was a hero he became the king of the Geats. In the movie he became the king of the Danes.
