Imagine you are an observer walking through our school for the first time. How might you organize or classify the groups that you encounter? What sort of factors might influence how you classify the people? What judgments might you make about the different groups? Why do we tend to classify and stereotype people in this manner?

If I just walked into school I’d stereotype and place people in groups by how the acted. I don’t know why but everyone stereotypes people like that.

I put the same thing that I would do it by how they acted. Tells a lot about people. And it is kinda weird we do it just because. Like out of instinct

I would classify each group of people on what kind of energy they lt off when interacting with someone clearly not in their group. I would make the judgement on how open they are to letting new people into their group. We do this because it is how you classify people growing up it’s what we have always done.

I grew with you and that is definitely a good way to classify each group and judge them.

The groups I would see would be the sports players, the preppy kids, and the gamers. The factors that would influence this would be the way people act and dress. I wouldn’t make any judgements just let them do their own thing and stick to my own business. We tend to stereotype these people because we are trying to find our group we fit in.

If I was walking through I wouldn’t say that there is too many groups in our school but mostly because of the small school everyone kind of hangs with everyone. We have the yee yees and the more sporty kids. What they do and how theu act. How they act. I don’t know why we do that to just happens.

I would probably look at the larger groups and see what they have in common. I would see what they talked about and what they enjoyed doing. We do this to try and figure out who people are before we get to know them personally.

I would organize these groups by what they look like or do. Groups that do sports are different than the people who don’t. Or the ones that look super emo while the rest look normal. I might judge them by the way they act around me or others. And stereotyping makes it easier to understand people in our mind.

I might classify the groups by how they look or dress. The factors that would show how I classify the people are attitude, personality, or facial expressions. I wouldn’t judge them I would try to get to know them first. We tend to classify people because it’s kind of a normal part in life where everyone has different things and don’t like others maybe not for who they are but how they represent themselves.

Any new person that comes into our school can classify the groups. Just like any school, we have the “popular kids”, the band and choir kids, the athletic kids and the stay to yourself kids. The clothes people wear can tip you off to where they classify themselves, or by the way the act towards the peers and teachers. We tend to classify people like this because it’s a norm for us. We have always looked at kids this way. It’s in books, movies and real life. We as humans stick to what we know best.

You got the druggies the quiet people then the loud popular kids then the cowboy wannabes. The way they act and dress. Some are bad some are good. It’s how we are tough to d how we learn who we want to be around and who we don’t.

I would classify them by the way they act and treat people. The way people dress is an easy to classify people, they way they talk and how they act. We do this because the human brain has programmed itself to see patterns in almost everything and this transfers over to they way it stores information about other people.

I would notice that a lot of people group up together but still associate with others around them. There’s a yeehaws, the partiers, and the sports players. Each group has a few people that sometimes wander into other groups. I feel like people are like sheep and always need to “flock” or surround themselves with others like them.

I would classify people into about three groups. There would be the sport kids, the study group, and the gamers. Since I am in high school I have seen these groups and these groups stand out from each other. I would see he different groups by how they act compared to others. We tend to stereotype people because it helps us to separate groups.

The athletes, workers, popular kids, and the good old boys. The factors that make me classify people in these groups are what are their interests and what do they do. The athletes always are on about sports, the workers are always trying to balance their work and school, the popular kids are on about trends and the good old boys always have work, school, and other projects.
