Saint Patrick's day was first celebrated in 1601 in the Spanish colony of Florida and we clebrated it in the United States as a Irish Aid.

St. Patrick’s day is a Irish religious holiday to celebrate the loss of st. Patrick. Every year the Chicago river gets dyed green to celebrate the holiday. We celebrate this holiday for some people’s heritage or just another excuse to drink.

Something I found interested is Ireland naturally doesn't have snakes. Also over 40 pounds of dye is put into the Chicago River every year. Americans celebrate to be open to all cultures.

That St. Patrick died and we celebrate his life. Hundreds more of thousands of Irish fled to the United States after the potato famine. And we celebrate here as a sort of aid.

St. Patrick’s day is names after St. Patrick. He lived during the fifth century. The Irish se St. Patrick’s day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. St. Patrick’s day in America is really just a money grab for businesses.

Chicago dyes their river green every year. We celebrate because of the high Irish population. I did not know that Saint Patrick was originally a slave.

Some interesting facts are that lent is waived, and they do church in the morning and party in the evening. The Americans celebrate it a little differently. They drink green beers late into the night.

The Irish had suffered quite a bit as it appears. They had to deal with each other and the prejudice of others. Not to mention how St. Patrick’s real life has added legends to it.

I didn't know that St. Patrick's was named after a christian man and that the holiday has been celebrated for almost thousand years. We celebrate it because of how many Irish are in America and it's the best excuse to drink for many people.
