Daily Literary Quote
“In the Middle Ages, cathendrals and convents burned like tinder; imagining a medieval story without a fire is like imagining a World War II movie in the Pacific without a fighter plane shot down in flames.”

Journal Prompt

When I think of the Middle Ages I think of knights fighting with large kingdoms with walls and structures made of stone. I think of kings and queens decorated with gold and jewels. I think of war with things like catapaults and flaming arrows. Robin Hood and Hansel and grettle are 2 stories set in this time.

What comes to mind for me when it comes to the Middle Ages is a knight fighting a giant snail or iconic European Dragon along with the civil war amongst the people of the Holy Roman Empire. With one of these fights possibly caused over a bucket. This is funny thing is what I think about when talking about the Middle Ages.

One movie that undoubtedly involves stuff like this is Game of Thrones. I don’t particularly watch it, but have heard some details on it, and the things that occurred during the Middle Ages (and even Beowulf potentially) are told in the bloody truth of Game of Thrones. Not even The Legend of Zelda games tell all of those truths.

When I think about the medical ages I try to images how it really was because I don’t think it was a lot of knights in shining armor kinds of things more along the lines of lots of death, murder and plagues. I believe that their is loyalty to be truthful their is most likely more loyalty back then, than their is today in our era. A movie that has a character from the mid-evil era is King Arthur from Excalibur.
