One big difference between the film and book of Beowulf is how Grendel’s mother is still alive and Beowulf Father’s the dragon.

What it also says about our society is that there are good people among us, but we have our faults such as some men lusting after women as Beowulf.

The text of Beowulf versus the film was different in several ways, the way Beowulf got Grendel’s arm, the way he dies, and a few others. What this shows about society are things constantly change books, movies, and life in its self.

One major change is that Beowulf does the dirty with Grendel’s mom in the movie. This shows that our society is highly sexualized.

The big difference is the temptation beowulf has. It show that in our society that temptation is a powerful thing. It also shows that temptation can sway the heart of a hero.

The movie and book are very different because In the book Beowulf didn’t have a night with Grendel’s mom. But in the movie they have a kid together. This shows how I’m todays world people like it more “frisky”

The main difference was where Beowulf kills Grendel’s mom in the book but not the movie. Wiglaf also helps him kill he dragon in the book but not the movie. I think the movie was changed to be a more glamorous adaptation so it held attention better.

Beowulf didn’t kill Grendel’s mom he did the dirty with her instead. And in the book they make Grendel seem like a big super horrible monster and Grendel’s mom but they don’t seem scary. We also make changes to the movie then the book to “make it better”

The text version was more in-depth about the story itself. The movie didn’t follow the real story perfectly. I think the younger generations will still have to read th text version but hopefully they don’t just watch the movie they don’t get the real experience of the story.

In the ending of the movie Beowulf stabs the dragon and kills it by ripping the heart out but in the book the dragon kills Beowulf before Beowulf can kill the dragon.

They changed a lot of the story line. It was most likely changed to fit what everyone liked at the time the movie was made. They wanted to attract viewers so they changed the story a bit.

The biggest change from the book to the movie is that Beowulf didn’t kill Grendel’s mom, they did the dirty instead. That shows that today’s society values sex more than battle and heroes.

The major twist and difference between the film and the writing was Grental’s mom tempting Beowulf into fatherhood. He humped and dumped her and later came back to bite him literally when the dragon came to kill him in the end. This shows that men can be distracted by women which can be relevant today.

Beowulf pumps Grendel’s mother full. I think because it gives more drama to the movie they did this

The biggest difference in the film and the story is that Beowulf doesn’t actually kill Grendel’s mother. Beowulf has a son with Grendel mother. Another difference is that Wiglof didn’t help Beowulf kill the dragon but Wiglof did stay by him and tried to keep up.

I think one of the major changes that was shown was that that Beowulf did not kill Grendel’s mother in the movie. He never had evidence in the text either that he killed her. These changes show that when people do not hear the full story they can fill in the rest of the story with whatever they would like.

Beowulf never did kill Grendel’s mother in the movie instead he went to town with her. Another main one was Wiglaf never killed the dragon Beowulf did it all on his own. In the movie the dragon never bit Beowulf he burnt his hand and then fell with the dragon to their death. They didn’t make a memorial where Beowulf is buried instead the burn him with his riches on a boat. This shows that society is kinda messed up and unpredictable.

The largest divergence from the text is that Beowulf doesn’t kill Grendel’s mother and becomes the sire to a dragon. Another difference is that Beowulf doesn’t fight Grendel nude. I think as a society we want a hero that isn’t without his mistakes.
