I think of old clocks and buildings
Yeah I feel like the buildings were a big classifier
I think of a combination of classy appearances, dresses or suites, and old literature pieces like poetry. The characteristics would be a type of order, neat, sophisticated and a bit of negativity towards anything different from that style.
I agree such things were very important to the people of that time.
I feel like there was a lot more than a big of negativity towards different styles.
I agree completely
When I think of Victorian I think of ladies in the dresses with the corsets, and tea in little fancy cups, and tall churches with the pointy towers.
I didn’t think of the churches but it makes sense.
There were a lot of defining things
I think of Queen Victoria, Industrialization, and Romanticism.
Yes Brandon! Fabulous!
Royalty. Being well known. Some characteristics would probably be the way they dressed and how they lived. It’s changed with time but there’s still people who think they are above everyone else.
I agree. Royalty is definitely a major part of the era.
For me what comes to mind is England and it’s giant palaces, Kings and queens, and things like that.
Royalty is a big one
Forgot about the royalty aspect of it.
First thing that comes to my mind is royalty.
Royalty was a big thing in that era
Yes Jennifer! Such a good answer!
Some things I think of are royalty and poetry. They were pretty sophisticated and liked to follow one specific way of life. They were kind of bitter if their ways and beliefs didn’t get followed.
Sophistication seems to have been a priority during this time. Why do you think that is?
I think of big dresses, formal wear, the different social expectations. They were a lot more formal.
I can definitely picture that as something formal compared to other eras.
It's unfortunate that we aren't formal like they were.
I think of architectural landmarks and monarchy. This may mean it was a time of economic and social progress.
I never looked at it that way.
I didnt even think about architectural landmarks.
I agree, I think classy
I think of Victorian style buildings. That era was ordered, neat, and sophisticated.
I think of royalty when I think of Victorian, some of the characteristics should be neat, and sophisticated.
When I hear Victorian I usually think of antique furniture and clothes. They look really fancy, and really expensive.
The furniture was pretty though.
I think of the dresses and even the big formal balls. Some things we still have that are Victorian are the old looking clocks.
When I think of the word Victorian I think of like new of everything getting out of the old and moving to new era of time.
When I hear the word Victorian I think classy, older, sophisticated. I also think of houses because we have Victorian houses.
I think of old buildings mainly.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
