Daily Literary Quote
“Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt Journal Prompt Imagine you have to move to a foreign country, where you are an immigrant. What might be some of the struggles you might face? How might you be treated? How might you feel?

You would probably face many cultural differences and there might be a language barrier, which would make things even harder. You might be treated differently either because you look different or you don’t speak the language etc. I think I would feel overwhelmed and out of place.

I too think that language would be a huge obstacle when moving to a different country.

If I were to move to a foreign country, I would go to France. Some struggles I would face would be not knowing the language fluently, not knowing where everything is, and not knowing anyone there. I feel like I would probably be treated poorly at first because I wouldn’t really fit in. I predict that I would feel pretty good because I’ve always wanted to live in a different place and learn about different cultures.

You don’t think that being treated poorly by the people there would affect how you felt about living there?

At least there’s a positive reason for being there. A language barrier is definitely a struggle.

Struggles would be finding a job, somewhere to live, friends, etc. You would prolly be treated like an outsider and probably not feel safe with everyone looking you and being rude.

You might be treated like a nuisance, a burden, or a threat. It would be hard to get your feet on the ground after moving to a country you are unfamiliar with. You will more than likely have a hard time finding a job and if you can’t find a job you can’t live. It would probably feel lonely and hopeless.

Possibly learning a different language and adjusting to their culture. I would probably feel slightly out of place at first but would get comfortable after a little time.

Some of the struggles that could be faced is how different it could be. You’re moving to a place you know little to nothing about. Fitting in could be a struggle as well. Because it is not your home town, those who live there may be skeptical and rude. You could feel many different ways; scared, angry, sad.

It would probably be a hard change. You would have to be careful with the way you spoke or acted, especially around certain people. I think it would be a struggle to get acceptance from those around you.

Culture is one of the hardest things to become familiar with but I believe it is also one of the most fun things to learn.

Language barrier might be a struggle. Understanding the culture and how people live their lives could also be a struggle. I’ll be treated differently, depending how the people react to foreigners and if they respect them. I would probably feel out of place and that I don’t belong there at the start.

The biggest struggle to me would be getting familiar with the culture and tradtitioms of said country. I think I would be treated as an ignorant individual as I won’t be as familiar with the region yet and to be honest I would probably feel stupid at times as I learn.

Some struggles I might face is speaking the language of the country or even finding a job. People treat immigrants different, some are nicer and some are meaner. I’ll probably feel lost and alone since I won’t have any friends or family there.

You might have trouble learning the language, norms, and cultures. There are a lot of cases where immigrants are treated poorly or are taken advantage of. You might feel mistreated, afraid, intimidated, maybe excited about being in a new place.

You might encounter certain cultural differences and maybe a language barrier. You might be treated differently because of your nationality. You might also feel a little left out.

Languages can be a barrier at first but by involving yourself into the community I believe one can learn many common phrases and expressions that will help them at first.

Some struggles could be language or just cultural norms. I feel like I’d be treated differently because as an immigrant you could be looked at differently. I’d feel a little out of place probably.

I think you would have trouble completing all of the correct paperwork, finding a job, and adjusting to language and culture in that country. People are typically rude to immigrants, thinking that they are somehow better them. You would probably feel like an outcast and probably lonely too.
