Daily Literary Quote
“I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.”
Do you think music should be used to forward a political message? Can a song actually make a difference in the world? Why or why not?

I think music should be used for a political message and one could change the world by pointing out things that are wrong in society and how unfair certain things are.

I agree, when one is given a platform it is important to use that platform to convey a message that has the potential to make the world a better place.

I think that it could be helpful. I feel like music has a better chance at making a difference in the world. People tend to relate more to music and can understand true lyrics better than when someone just tells them something.

Music does leave a greater impression. Catchy tunes and lyrics are easy to memorize and are usually more enjoyable.

It could have some improvement because music can be interpreted more positively. Though that depends on the message and if a person has an appreciation towards the music.

It’s up to the artist. Songs can make a difference, especially when they are popular and a lot of people hear them.

I think music can be able to forward political messages. Songs can change someone’s view or make them want to change something in the world. We listen to songs all the time and I think they can influence us.

I think it could be used to forward a political message. Musics is a really powerful thing that can have a huge affect on our emotions and how we think about things. The only problem is that if something about the song doesn’t quite fit the cause it won’t make much of a difference.

I think music works to convey messages very well and should be used for whatever purpose the artist wants. I think that music makes a big difference in people’s lives and in turn that can make the world a different place.

Sure it’s up to the artist, yes it can becaus it enough people listen to the song and actually listen to the lyrics and understand what the artist is trying to say then it may change they’re opinion on the matter.

I think artists should be free to sing/write songs about whatever they want, though I’m not sure how well political propaganda would sell. I think songs make plenty of difference in the world. For example, weed has become very popular and almost expected because so many celebrities sing about it (constantly)

Yeah I think music can convey a political message. Rage Against the Machine and Tool both use their music to convey a lot of political messages. They use a lot of satire

Miscommunication is always a risk and sometimes more so in art forms, such as music. We should definitely be careful about the way we convey our message.

Music invokes inspiration and thoughts throughout many genres and audiences. I know of many songs that forward a political message and believe that it is one more way of arguing views and is okay to do.

Music is vital to the expression of some people and if those making music feel it is important to convey their message and stance on political views through their art, then so be it. I believe any form of communication can make a difference in the world, if we are willing to take action.

I think music would be a good way to send a message to the world but I’m not sure if it would be 100% effective when it comes to making a difference. It may change one persons outlook on a particular sobjuct but more times than not people are going to stick to their beliefs
