Daily Literary Quote
“If all the world hated you and believed you wicked, while your own conscience approved of you and absolved you from guilt, you would not be without friends.”
                                                              - Charlotte Bronte, Jane Eyre

Journal Prompt
Do you believe every person has a conscience?  Explain. What about people who commit horrendous acts?

That was an accident but I believe everyone has a conscience. I think we all know what we are doing. Even people who have horrendous acts.

I think a conscience is there, it’s just not something everyone listens to.

I think everyone does. I think some people just don’t care or don’t realize the consequences of their actions both concerning themselves and others.

I believe everyone has a conscience the only difference is some people actually believe that they’re doing the right thing when they do horrendous acts, where as others don’t see things that way.

I agree. People may think they are doing something good but in another persons perspective it may not be good.

Yes I think everyone has a conscience. I think so,e people choose not to listen to it or have become numb because they’ve spent so much time ignoring it.

I believe that everyone does. But not everyone wants anything to do with it. There are people who do unbelievable things and it does make you wonder. But I think that everyone does in a way have a conscience.

Yeah I believe everyone has a conscience. People can be brainwashed -religion for example- can make a person believe that they have to to certain acts in order to git into “heaven”. Everyone has a conscience but some people conscience hasn’t matured very much

I believe everyone has a conscience. There are just people who choose to ignore their conscience. Even people who murder, steal, and terrorize have consciences.

No. Some people do terrible things and feel no guilt whatsoever. I believe there are people who do bad things and feel sympathy for the ones they harmed, but there are people messed up enough to enjoy the harm they inflict.

I believe that every one does have a conscience. I think that people know what they are doing to an extent. Even people who do terrible things have thought about what they are going to perform. A persons conscience is based on their own mind and way they think.

I do believe everyone has a conscience, but I also believe everyone’s consciences are different. People who commit horrendous acts usually don’t see anything wrong with what they do, so their conscience isn’t going to stop them.

I believe everyone has a concious, but not everyone’s concious is morally correct. Those who commit horrendous acts believe they are doing what is right, because their concious tells them they are doing right.

Having a conscience doesn’t usually mean the person is good. Every person has a conscience, a voice that weighs their choices whether they’re good or bad.
