I’m pretty sure I can trace my family history to the 15 or 1600’s. We’re from Germany and Ireland. It’s important to know who you are cause it can help you in life.

I don’t really know a lot of my family history other than my great grandparents on my dad’s side moved from Germany in the early 1900’s. I know that my family shares German, Irish, Swedish, Hispanic, Scottish, and Dutch backgrounds. I think it is important that we know our ancestry because it’s who and what we are made up of. Without it, we would essentially all be the same with no uniqueness.

My moms side of the family came from Ireland and my dads side of the family came from Wales. My family knows a lot more of our family history than I do. They can trace it back many generations but I don’t personally know very much about any of it. I think it is somewhat important just because it’s good to know where you came from but I also don’t think it’s a big deal if you don’t know any of your heritage. I don’t think it will affect your life too much if you don’t know.

I know back to my great grandmother, but that’s it. According to my grandma, our family comes from Czechoslovakia and Germany. I don’t think it’s imperative to know your family history, but it can give you kind of a sense of identity.

I can name a good portion of my family going back to my great grandparents. We come from North America, Britain, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, and Switzerland. It is necessary to know about your family because it tells you where you come from, plus it’s helpful for medical reasons.

I don’t know my family history as much as I’d like to. I know my dad’s side is Scottish/Irish and my mom’s side is heavily Cherokee. I believe it is crucial to know your origins as they helped shape who you are as an individual. Also knowing the culture and traditions of your origins can be fun as well as educational.

My ancestors were from Scotland, Germany, and Italy. Most of my ancestors moved to America in the mid-late 1800s. I don’t think that it is important to know your ancestry in day to day life, but it is a nice thing to know.

I can trace back my family heritage after the colonial era. They come from Scandinavia, Scottish, Irish, and German. It is important to know about your ancestry because when you learn about your ethnicity, you learn more about yourself that is deeply rooted by blood and you can read about your ancestors’ stories.

My family heritage is very limited on my mother’s side of our family but very strenuous. I am Native American, German and French, I get these traits from my mom’s side and I get German, Irish and Norwegian from my dad’s side. Most of my ancestors are immigrants, excluding my great grandmother’s family. It is very amusing to me to find where I come from, so it is important to me. Knowing my heritage helps me better understand what I have a higher chance of receiving, i.e. heart problems, cancer and certain addictions.

My ancestors actually come from a lot of different cultures and countries, I really don’t know to what extent though. I know that I have Mexican, French , German, Native American, and Greek roots. I know of some others but it’s a really long list so I’ll spare you. My great Nana And Tata on my Mom’s side came to the United States in 1955 from Mexico. I don’t really know when My Dad’s side migrated. I feel personally that it is important to understand our heritage and ancestry because it’s a part of our being. I know that it bugs me that I don’t know to much about my Mexican culture and language, it feels as if I’m not worthy of my heritage because I don’t know enough about it.
