Journal Prompt
What social classes exist in America?  Do you think all classes are treated equally?  Why or why not?  Is it easy to change one’s social class?

There’s all kinds of social classes and they definitely are not treated equally or fairly
You can try to change your social class but you prolly won’t fit in very well.

I think you could adapt to fit in eventually, but it sure would be hard to relate to people who were born and raised rich

There’s definitely wealth classes in America, distinguishing rich from the poor. There’s also racial classes distinguished by neighborhood set-ups. Not all classes are treated the same because one group has more social power over the other, such as caucasians and rich people. I doubt that it’s easy to change classes. Not impossible, just hard.

I feel like there’s the rich, the people who make enough to barely make it by, and the people who have nothing. No they are not all treated equally but it’s not a huge difference. It’s not easy to change your social class, hard work and bettering yourself can lead to better paying jobs which can change your status. Or you can just win the lottery.

The classes are poor, middle, and higher classes. They definitely not treated the same because of money. I don’t think it’s very easy to change ones social class.

There are the lower, upper, and middle classes. They are treated differently even thought she shouldn’t be. While it may not be easy, it is possible to chance your social class in America.

Social classes do exists in America, maybe not always super defined but those different classes do appear. I don’t believe all social classes are treated equal, because all social classes have different values so they do not always see eye to eye. I don’t think it would would be easy to change ones social class but it is possible if you have the heart to want that change in your life.

There are three social classes in America, low class, middle class, and high class. Different classes are definitely treated differently, we tend to idolize the higher class citizens and disregard the lower class people. With hard work and dedication you can change your class, just because you were born into a lower or middle class doesn’t mean you cannot advance and do better for yourself.

Lower class, middle class, and high class. No classes are not treated equal because you more money you have the more power that comes with it so the rich think they can walk all over people. It’s not easy to change a social class unless you really work for it and set or mind to change.

The social classes in America are typically the rich, the middle class, and the poor. All classes are not treated equally- poor people are typically treated as ‘subpar’ or even trash, while a rich person is always treated well, no matter if someone hates them, it seems. It’s not easy to change someone’s social class especially if one is starting from the bottom(poor).

Some social classes would be religion, race, and how rich or poor you are. Certain classes aren’t treated equally because we view people as different and when someone portrays different ideas from our own we tend to outcast them. It isn’t entirely impossible to change classes, however, I feel like it is incredibly hard to do so.

There’s a lot of different social classes in today’s society. I don’t think all classes are treated equally because they all have different views and think differently. You can change social classes but it’ll be hard because you can’t just forget where you came from.

I’ve bounced between classes a bit from living with almost nothing to being sort of more of a higher middle class I would say. It was hard to adjust but not impossible.

Money, religion, race, gender, even the state your from can determine social standings. All classes are not treated equal. This is because of a combination of our histories and different cultures and norms. It's not easy to change social standing. It's similar to changing your reputation. Most of the time it takes time and work.

There are upper class, new money, middle class, working class, working poor and poverty level. The classes are not treated equally. In my experience those in the lower classes tend to have more respect for others, not matter their class. Those in the upper classes tend to only show respect for those they view as their equals (those from the upper classes). That’s not say that that is how every person from those classes are. It can be quite hard for those from the lower classes to raise their class due to many different factors. Those born to the lower classes may have the mind set that they will never move up so they don’t work for it, but others may have the mind set that through their hard work they may be able to live a better life in the upper classes. Opportunities also prove to be hard to come by for those from the lower classes so that may make the task of moving up in the class system a challenge. However, it can be easy for those from the upper levels to demote classes, if they are not careful with their money. If they are careful with their money though they can live their entire lives in comfort and riches.
