To an extent I think it has. I say this because it’s easier to catch a criminal with surveillance videos than without them. However, sometimes there is not enough footage that was caught on tape to do good.

There’s always room for advancement though.

I think there is a limit to how much video surveillance we should have. Privacy is important

It goes both ways, inteligence is good until it becomes stalking or when the wrong people can use intelligence

I agree. There is a certain point where it does become stalking.

I think certain aspects of video surveillance have become helpful, but it has also taken away some of our privacy.

That depends on the person and their intentions with their usage. Video surveillance has the potential to harm and help someone.

Yes because it has caught many criminals, but it has taken away from our freedom a little but has done more good than bad.

I do think it has made the world slightly better. It assists in investigations and prevents theft. It is a breach on privacy though and it does allow people to monitor your actions.

Kiana Farnworth

Yes, in the sense that we now have the ability to gather further evidence in a criminal sense, but no in the sense that the technology can be easily manipulated.

I fully agree. It helps in many ways but it does take away our privacy on certain levels.

Since the use of cameras first became popular people all over have found ways to exploit it.

Yes because it has caught a lot of criminals. But sometimes the cameras don’t catch all of what happened.

Yes video surveillance has made the world a better place for example if someone wants to do some kind of crime do to video surveillance they will think harder not to do it. It provenance criminal from doing bad things.

Video surveillance has brought many people comfort knowing that they have a way to catch any body who might be up to no good, it also has brought a fear that our lives are no longer private. I say that privacy isn’t a concern any more as our generation tweets and posts everything we do all the time.

Hailey Jo

To an extent yes I think video surveillance had made the world a better place. Because it can be a helpful tool in crime.

Reply
Jennifer

I think it is helpful in some aspects for safety reasons or for areas that stealing is common. I wouldn’t say it taking away our privacy is bad because most of us don’t deserve the privacy. We wouldn’t need video surveillance if we weren’t doing things we shouldn’t.
