If a story makes people uncomfortable, does that make it dangerous—or necessary? Imagine your favorite book was suddenly removed from the library. How would that affect you or your community?

A story that makes people comfortable can be both dangerous and necessary. Being exposed to things that you're not used to helps you understand them better. If my favorite book were removed from the library, that would upset me because I wouldn't have as easy access to it as I once did. But it also takes away a learning opportunity to the community, even if it's just one book.

I think a good story should make you think and sometimes that can mean bringing you out of your comfort zone. I think its a little necessary. If my favorite book was banned I think people would be upset and would just find different ways to read it.

If a story makes you uncomfortable it is nessicary becasue in order to expand our minds you need to feel uncomfortable to see evrythign from a new point. If my favorite book suddenly got removed I would be upset becasue yes it sends out a message that you could run away from home and survive on youre own with little help; but books are supposed to tell a story to make you think about youre outside world actions and how they differ from fiction.

If a story makes you uncomfortable most the time it gives people a thrill. They also get the story across better by connected with the reader more.

I think if a story makes someone uncomfortable then its necessary because it makes us think about the parts of being human that we want to forget about, much like how the story "The Lottery" makes some people uncomfortable.

If my favorite book was removed from the library I would feel angry and maybe even a little sad and I'm sure other people would also feel that way and might even try to demand it back.

if a story was removed it would effect the community by if it as an important one it would shake the commatiy and they would be sad. and it would effect them because it as important to them all the stuff in the story.

I would say it depends on how uncomfortable the book is if its just because it says a cuss word no it does not make it dangerous but if it talks about how to start a war then yes it is dangerous to society. It honestly just depends on the level of uncomfortable topics. If my favorite book was removed it would affect me by making me a little upset and it would affect my community by removing a learning opportunity away from the community.

If a story is something someone fears, they should be temped by it and want to explore the knowledge within it. When fear arises people tend to run away or try and deminish the source of the fear. The nessesity in reading or listening to those words that scare people is emence, comparing current knowledge to the souce that may confuse is essential for poeple's minds to grow. As well succeed in the real world, just because a person may not agree with anothers doesn't mean they have to beilve what they other may but respecting the person and taking the time to see their persepctive. If my favorite book was taken out of a library I would be confued and at a loss of knowledge, as that book had impacted my life and my reading/knowledge journey. It would pose the treat that some people's opinions would not understood or listened to so instead of talking through the problem and coming to an understanding to solve the problem the book was removed from everyone creating even more tension for those who may have found much knowledge and comfort in that book.

I think that if a story makes someone uncomfortable, then that probably means it is worth reading. I personally think there are some topics that should not be written, or talked about, but there are still stories that talk about them. Despite disagreeing with the topics, I do not think they should be banned. If my favorite book was banned I think many people in the school would be angry, while some might think it was a good thing. We don't all have to agree on what should be written about, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be written about.

I believe that people can see the message differently people are all special and unique. If my book was gone I would feel sad for the people who could've read the book's message. It is a fun adventure and emotional struggles with self improvement and acceptance. Every book should have a chance cause everyone has their opinion that should be heard. Every book should be able to share the message it shows to our community.

If a story makes people uncomfortable it is not a very good thing but we still have those books. If my favorite book was removed I bet there are many more like it. I don't think the entire community would have read the same thing but possibly a couple people did. There can be a lot of books similar but not the same, so it will not effect the community.

I believe having having books that make you uncomfortable are both necessary and dangerous. Having books with opposing views and things you disagree with is necessary to help you see the way other think and they're reasoning. However having books that can spread false information and innately bad things can be dangerous if you are to young to read them.

If a story makes people uncomfortable I think it should be necessary because it might help people to learn other versions and opinions of stories. It is important that people can develop their own opinions. If my favorite book was removed from the library I think that people would be very upset. Books are important to people to help see the world in a different way. To help gain perspective that is thought of by someone else. We need books to have skills of creativity.

If a story makes people uncomfortable, I don't think that it is dangerous, but it also is not necessary. Stories that make people uncomfortable can be informational to the people who are not used to things like that. It can be something they learn about that they did not know before. It, of course, is not necessary though. It is not crucial that these stories exist, unless it is something factual like history or past experiences. If my favorite book was removed from the library, it would not affect me because I have a copy of my favorite book at my house. It may affect others in my community because if it is their favorite book and only have access to it from a library, it may be disappointing to them.

If a story makes someone uncomfortable, I don't think is is dangerous nor necessery. a lot of times we step out of our comfort zone and it makes us uncomfortable and we learn new things about our selves, say you read a new book you wouldn't typically read and you don't end up liking it, you probably won't read one like that again. I don't think its necessary because we know our preferences on things and know what we like but sometimes it is necessary because we need to open up or minds to new concepts and challenge ourseleves to step out of our comfort zone. If my favorite book was taken away I would be confused and lost as to why and I would want answers.

A story that makes people uncomfortable is necessary because it helps expose people to things, and thoughts they aren't used to. It helps give people news thoughts and opinions. If my favorite book was removed from a library I would be upset since I wouldn't be able to find it anymore. It can effect a community by taking away thoughts and ideas that come from that book.

I think that a story that makes people uncomfortable is necessary, because you get to see and understand new things that you never knew before. My favorite book probably wouldn't effect my community due to it being a childs fantasy book. It would effect me because I absolutely love my book.

No, we should not get rid of books that make us uncomfortable. They can help us challenge our believes and grow. I would not be happy if my favorite book was removed from the library. Since my favorite book is not in the library, there would be -1 books in the library. It would be really cool for the community to have -1 copies of a book.

A book that makes people uncomfortable is very necessary because it brings you out of your comfort zone and makes try new things and find other things out. Humans need these new experiances to grow and evolve. Another reason is that if you dont read it it is not a threat to you.

When an idea or thought makes one uncomfortable, it does not mean that it particularly needs removed from access by that individual or group. It likely proposes an idea contrary to their beliefs, or something they have not experienced or thought about before. It is likely for the better if they are exposed to it further. However, this does not mean that they must incorporate the idea in their life. There are many thoughts, ideas, or pieces of information that may be important to learn and be educated about, but are better left to a minimum in that individual or group's experiences and actions. It is important we have access to these contradictory or uncomfortable ideas. However, they may often be better left experienced or pondered in regulation, or we risk desensitization or extremification.

When a community of people feel that a certain book has misinformation or contains bad content it may be banned mostly because it was necessary. However there have been many books that have been banned due to being dangerous. If my favorite book was removed that the community also highly liked, it could cause people to react in a signing of a petition.
