Discuss a time you experienced jealousy.  How did it make you feel?  How did you respond?

Jealousy comes in many ways for many reasons, one specific situation I've had personally was being jelous of someone else having something I don't that I thought I deserved. Myself being the kind of student I am, I thought I deserved a better grade than I had gotten and a friend that puts in minimal effort had got a better grade than me. Although I had realized that in the long run that lesser grade helped me imporve my overall thinking and the way I went about judging my own grades, the teacher was helping to push me to be better knowing I was capable of more.

One time that I experienced jealousy was when I was 9 years old on christmas. My sister got a giant sketch book that I had asked for. It made me feel angry and upset that she had got something that I had wanted. I responded by complaining to my parents and being salty for the next week.

I last felt jealousy today, it made me feel like a shallow person who was obsessed with the material aspect of life. I just got really quiet and reflected on why I was feeling that way.

One time I was jealous was when I was ten when my grandma only gave my brother an icee and not the rest of us. At the time I felt like it wasn't fair and I was angry, but I didn't do anything about it.

One time I experienced jealousy was when I wanted a role and someone else got it. It made me feel sad and jealous. I responded in a way that I was happy for that person but sad for myself.

I still get jelous time to time about poeple and what they eat that I cant due to allergies. How it makes feel is left out becasue I am down to eatign less then a vegan diet; for how I respond is sometimes I ignore my allergies and have it anyway.

I do not often experience jealousy in terms of anger or a need to retaliate or compensate. I most often feel jealousy as a sort of distance, and a wishing for what I do not have. It is more of a pain than an anger for me. Most often, when I feel jealousy, I fold, and direct my effort to trying to move onward, or dealing with the feeling until situations change for my favor again.

When I experience jealousy it usually has something to do with personality. Some people have a very extroverted personality and they are fun to be around. It makes me feel happy for them and the person that they are, they have good characteristics, although it does make me doubt myself sometimes. I would say that I am pretty comfortable in my own skin though. I respond with trying to be more open.

One time I experienced jealousy was my parents taking my sister to Italy for her senior trip, they are leaving me at home to watch my younger siblings. It made me feel left out, because my sister will be going on a trip without me.

One time when I experienced jealousy it was toward a friend. It made me feel jealous and a little frustrated at myself because I don't have the same perks they have. My response was to just let it go and let me be myself and not let it bother me.

It made me feel upset, and envious of my siblings. I usually responded by getting sad and quiet but now it doesn't bother me.

I felt jealousy when people had a nicer dirt bike than me. It made me feel sad. I responded by making my bike cleaner than theirs.

I felt jealousy when someone was taller than I. It definitely made me feel jealous at the time and sad too. I responded by asking them how to grow.

I've expierenced jealousy during dance competitions, watching other people with more skill is hard especially when you're competing against them. It made me feel like I had no chance at our competitions. I tried to ignore those feelings and focus on myself and what I was able to do.
