Christmas has been my favorite holiday ever as I can remember. My entire family gets together during this time to enjoy each other's company while playing games, sharing stories, and consuming as much food as we can. The traditions that surround Christmas are my favorite part of the holiday. In my family, we have a tradition on Christmas Eve where we form a circle out of our clothes and Santa leaves some unwrapped gifts inside. This is known as a "Santa Circle." I would like to know what your favorite Christmas traditions are and what you like to do on Christmas day.

Our tradition was going up my Nana's and Papa's house on Christmas day and have dinner and then we'd have a smaller and more relaxed day on Christmas Eve. Now that they have gone and become snow birds we just do one on Christmas Eve at our house inviting family oven and everything, but after everyone leaves we go and open our Christmas Eve present: always being matching pajamas then we go to bed and wait till Christmas morning. Where we will then have our Christmas Breakfast Bread after we open our presents.

I've always loved the tradition of matching pajamas! My family never did this but I think it's really fun so I will probably do it with my family when I'm older.

We always did the matching pajamas with our grandparents and cousins too! It was a lot of fun and we always took family pictures. They lived in Oregon at that time so we'd always hang out with my dad's family!

I don’t know what it is that screams crazy Christmas pajamas, but I love it so much! It’s something that truly just makes the holiday that much more fun (and you get to tease each other, which is even more fun).

As we get older, my family hasn't done this as much because we are usually really busy with sports and school activities, but when I was younger, we would make Christmas deserts in the time leading up to the 25th. We would do a lot of baking and we would make different cookies and sweet breads and things. We would decorate gingerbread men every year, but my favorite thing I always made with my dad every year was Bon-Bons. This was always fun because I got to spend time with my dad making one of his favorite Christmas treats from when he was a kid, and I also loved how they tasted. I would inevitably burn myself every year when dipping them in chocolate, but I still liked making them anyways!

I agree that life gets super busy. I think that's why it's so special how to have these traditions. I enjoy a lot of the activities we did when I was younger because it feels awesome to relax and feel the magic!

It’s always unfortunate to lose some of Christmas do to our ever growing schedules- but it just makes the time we do slow down and follow traditions all the more important; a chance to step away from it all and enjoy familiarity, family, and friends! <3

I also mentioned how Christmas has changed, and I believe it is because we grow up and I guess don’t get so excited. But it is fun to look back at the memories and only hope to create more.

I get that, my dad used to make fudge, peanut butter balls, and peanut brittle. It was the best but he stopped making them back when I was in middle school to make it easier for wrestling.

My favorite tradition is that my dad has dressed up like Santa and surprised me and my little brothers, who still believe in Santa. One year he made sure to walk on the floor super loud so I opened my sister's door where we were all having a sleepover and whispered "guys, it's Santa!" and they were so excited that we took a secret video. The next year he literally disguised his voice and walked through the front door, throwing presents at us and our mom. The boys were laughing and screaming and they loved it so much.

That is so fun and I’m sure that this is probably one of their favorite memories, not only for them but for the rest of the family who got to experience their joy. I think that moments like this make Christmas the most memorable.

This is such a special tradition because it helps keep the magic alive and helps kids feel like Santa really does exist!

That's fun, my papa used to on Christmas Eve and hand out Candie canes by their house.

Not nearly as interesting as a clothing circle but very close to my heart is my family’s tradition of ornaments. Every year on Christmas Eve my parents get an ornament for each of us (including each other) based on our interests, personality, or events that happened that year. I love it so much- our quirky little tree always has a special place in my heart- it has no consistency or color scheme, just a mish mash of years of living! Every ornament is a memory, a snapshot of life in that moment, from the first, to the current!

My family used to do this too! Except that when we got old enough to choose our own, we had our individual ornaments that we placed on the tree. I love this kind of tradition because with each ornament, there is a correlating story that will take you back.

Christmas is a very nostalgic holiday for me, thought I have felt that it has changed into a “not as magical” holiday as it used to be. Some of my favorite traditions that we still do are opening the grandparents presents on Christmas Eve. Then the next morning we do stockings and then open our actual presents. We always have breakfast together that morning and really just spend time with whatever family is in town. I love having snow on Christmas Day (but after New Years, it can go away, haha).

Although I have almost never spent Christmas with extended family l, it does sound awfully nice to see the grandparents and just enjoy their presents and presence haha!

My family doesn’t really have a set tradition but we usually all have a dinner at my Nana’s house on Christmas Eve. Just the kids/cousins draw from a hat at Thanksgiving to see who they will get presents for at Christmas. This year I drew my cousin Ashlynn, which I have drawn the most over any other of my cousins. Mainly because of her age but also because we would try so hard to cheat and draw each other's names when we were younger. We were the inseparable cousins, but with age and when we started going to different school we drifted apart. Holidays always bring nostalgia to me and I love to spend time with my family.

A Christmas tradition my family and I have always done is set up the mickey mouse decoration. It is a set of characters from mickey mouse that sing Christmas carols. It is one of the decorations that aren’t being made any more, and is now a collectors item. This little tradition makes me so happy to sit by the tree and watch as the characters sing. My grandma started this tradition for my mom when she was little and my mom started it for me when I was. I hope to keep this tradition alive for as long as I can.

Christmas and Halloween are probably my favorite holidays of the year. I’m not too sure I can think of a Christmas holiday tradition. However for thanksgiving, me and my mom make Thanksgizza, which is pizza for thanksgiving and we spend time together making homemade pizza. When I was little, I remember when me and my family would travel to Colorado to visit family and my grandpa took me and my cousins sledding with four wheelers in the field.

My family’s traditions seem to change over the years but something’s that we usually do is go up to my grandparents and open some presents then we go home and get some sweet pjs for the night. I’m trying to think of some other things we do. We always open one present the night before which is always exciting. But in the end the one thing that doesn’t change is how much time there is with family during the holidays; from going to my grandparents here or heading to the Jorgenson Christmas party out in Grace, we always spend time together and that’s definetly, to me, is the important thing.
