As you have probably noticed, our high school is very small in students and staff, therefore it is difficult to offer a variety of elective classes. I have personally always wanted to take a sports medicine class or be able to play my violin in a string orchestra. As far as sports go, I am very sad that our school does not have a swim team or IHSAA soccer team, I also think it would be cool to have rugby or lacrosse. If you attended a larger school, what are some classes that you would like to take, or what do you wish was offered at our school?

I personally have no clue on what classes I would attend, but I have always wished we had a lacrosse team because I find it really fun and cool. It's like hockey and football combined. Also never knew you played the violin, that's dope.

I agree, I also think lacrosse is super cool. I think Salmon would do well with the sport.

I also think that lacrosse would be really fun. I think that it's great and well-adjusted for all ages, so it would have a lot of potential to be a fun and uniting activity for our school. I think it would be pretty successful as a co-ed sport as well, and also has a lot of potential for travelling and collaboration.

An elective that I wished Salmon offered would be a Forensics Science class. Being able to analyze evidence from crime scenes and have a basic understanding of the criminal justice system would be interesting and beneficial to know. I have always been interested in criminal justice and think that this would be a good class for everyone to learn from.

I also am interested in criminal justice! I think it would be very beneficial to have this type of class available as well. The career-related ones are pretty special and important because they can contribute to your goals and plans for further education in college.

Forensics Science would be such a cool elective! They offer it on IDLA, but I've heard its not worth it to take online because you can't do any cool labs or learn as in-depth as you would be able to in an online class.

Ooooo that would be so cool! I hope you look into that in further education - it’s unfortunately so unachievable for us to have classes for the variety of professions people want to go into.

I would personally be interested in exploring sports such as boxing, fencing, etc. I really like the "fighting" and self-defense types of sports and it would be really neat to learn them in a professional environment. I would also appreciate a block schedule with more STEM-related classes, as well as the APs and language classes.

I think there should be more language electives too.

Ugh I would love more sports and clubs in general, the funding is essential for them to exist. I personally have always wanted a debate team, and fence! I hope there is those activities where I go to college!

I personally would personally pick to have a photography/Art class in the school. I remember they had it freshman year and I was able to create some amazing art during that class as it served me further education about art. Without the art/photograghy class I find it hard to express my creativity and knowledge of art in my future career or education.

I agree that we should have an art class again because there is not a big enough variety for everyone.

Since our school is so small, there are not many options to take fun electives. I enjoy science and cooking, so electives like food hacks or cooking classes are super fun. I would also like to have more options towards dual credit classes that help high school students get farther ahead in their education.

I have never attended a larger school, but there are so many electives I wish we had - even things I wouldn’t be interested in are so valuable to young minds. It would give people a hand up in careers they wish to pursue, or give them an opportunity to pursue them. I’ve always wanted to take classes in designing and making clothing, as well as the arts, different mental science, and many more! There are a lot of advantages to a small school but it does cripple us in a lot of ways.

I honestly would have loved some more options for language learning. I have always been interested in learning another language but I have not really wanted to go into Spanish so I would have liked to have a German or Italian or something along those lines to have taken.
