There is an article that addresses the concept of the human race possibly living in a simulation. Scientists have different hypotheses on the probability of whether or not we are. “Plug all these into a Bayesian formula, and out comes the answer: the posterior probability that we are living in base reality is almost the same as the posterior probability that we are in a simulation—with the odds tilting in favor of base reality by just a smidgen.” Basically scientist are unable to prove that we are not in a simulation. What do you think?
In my opinion, I do not think that we are in a simulation. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it goes against what I believe. I believe that we are all God’s children and we were sent to this earth to be tested. Being in a simulation built by other intelligent beings does not seem very probable. I think we should follow the rule of Occams’s Razor. It states: with the absence of evidence, the simplest explanation is most likely correct. With that being said, there is a lot that humans do not know. The universe is far from explained. Does anyone really know for a fact that we are not all in a simulation of sorts?
