If You Could Turn Back Time... (Cayden)

I know it seems like our lives are set on their courses. We are all about to graduate and go into the world to learn what we want to do for the rest of our lives. But, if given the chance, what would you do differently? If you could change your career to something else, what would that be? What would you do differently in highschool to set yourself up for success? I know I would take more opportunities, starting track, band, and drama in early middle school. I'd reach further out of Salmon to grab some computer science classes to make more money, and save that money for a better college outside of Idaho.

I would probably try to save up more money for school, but honestly if I could I would go to a different school that had more advanced coursework and more culinary based classes. With the culinary school I am going to, I miss out on a scholarship for recent high school graduates because our school didn’t offer a type of culinary classes. I know there is nothing I can change about it now, but if I could I would.

I would like to save more money as well. I feel like everyone always says how expensive college is and how you should save every extra penny, but when you’re young, college is not as urgent as the other things one might put their money towards.

I also wish I would have saved up more money for school, but that is difficult when also trying to have amazing life experiences. I also struggle with finding scholarships because a lot of them do not transfer to out of state.

If I were to go back in time and change my high school experience, I would change my bad spending habits. I have a really big problem with spending my money as soon as I get it, so if I could go back and change how I make financial decisions, I would.

This is also something I would like to change. It is so easy to spend money quickly especially in high school and such a difficult habit to break.

That is a good thing to change. I definely have had some times where shopping just seems fun, but now looking in to how much schooling will cost some of that spending doesn’t seem that it was necessary.

If I could go back in high school and change a habit, I would spend more time focusing on myself, my mental health, and personal success. Throughout all of high school I have been very involved and focused on excelling in school and extracurriculars that I would tend to put myself on the back burner and focus on other things rather than my own happiness and health. I believe focusing more on my own happiness and health would have made my high school experience different, and make me much happier with the way I chose to do high school.

I really like your take on this prompt. High school gets really crazy and busy and sometimes it is hard to have that needed me time where you put your needs in front of what is going on at the time. I definitely feel that if I did this more, I would be less stressed and maybe not have turned into a major procrastinator.
