Bank Robbing (Chloie)

2/5/2023

A few months ago I met a man at sharky hot springs, he told me that at one point in every persons life it would be possible to rob a bank and get away with it. My questions today is if you had the opportunity to rob a bank and get away with it, would you? If so, what would you do with the money? If not, do you think you would regret the decision later in the future?

This is a really tough question. Instantly my brain says no I would never rob a bank. However, if i knew i wouldn’t get caught, yes, I would rob a bank. I think I would feel a lot of guilt in the long run for stealing money but I think I would spend the money in a way that benefits more than just myself. If I used the money I stole to help someone or something I think I would feel a lot less guilt.

I like that you would help others with the money. That way it would seem a little bit better because it could be improving another’s life. In that aspect I see that it seems a little less bad to rob a bank.

That is an amazing idea, I didn't think about that. Knowing myself though, I wouldn't feel that much guilt in the first place. So I wouldn't really need this coping mechanism, but it's a nice thought.

I think I would have to spend the money on helping other people as well. Just knowing that somebody might have missed one of their payments in something because of me would be nerve wracking. Although, banks are insured so I’m not sure that it would be a big deal.

I don’t think even if I was given the chance I would not rob a bank. I know one thing for certain if I did, I would probably feel too guilty and return the money. All that extra cash would be so nice though. Go on a nice long vacation and a shopping spree. It would be fun in theory, but I know with my personality I would never get away with and and would get caught.

I couldn't imagine being so selfless. I know that, like most people, I am driven by my own needs. So even if I took money from a bank, probably money belonging to other people who also need to pay bills and things like that, I'd block that out because I now have a whole lot more money than I used to

If I knew I would get away with the money, one hundred percent guaranteed, no consequences, I would instantly take that chance. Having more money in a capitalist economy can only help. But doubts about how safe this operation would be would probably make me back off.

I agree. Even though it is a guarantee, I don’t see how everything will go perfectly smooth. Something along the way is bound and determined to go wrong. Whether it is a person being someplace they shouldn’t or if other things like natural disasters that can happen.

Even though it is guaranteed that you could get away with it, how would you know? How could you put your trust in someone so much to believe them.
