Daily Literary Quote
“Now I know what a ghost is.  Unfinished business, that’s what.”

Journal Prompt
Do you believe in ghosts or the supernatural?  Why or why not?  Why do you think they remain so prevalent in our stories and folklore?

I don't believe that ghosts are real. I have never been given any hard evidence that without a doubt proves that ghosts are real. While I have read many books about peoples from the past ghost experiences, I believe that they talk about ghost since they want to know that there is a chance that all humans have a spirit so that their loves one may have moved on or are still around floating as a spirit.

I do believe in ghost because, my friend had a personal experience with a ghost that would move her belongings. Because it is a easy thing to recreate. Another reason could be because they have a lot of action and character that can draw audience attention.

I do believe in ghosts because I have had personal experiences with the supernatural. I think its something people who write or tell stories think that most people will believe stories with ghost in them because they might of had experiences with them.

I do not believe on ghosts exist because there is no hard evidence of them existing. With modern technology we would be able to have a way to find see and talk to ghosts if they truly existed. I think they remain prevalent in stories and folktail because people think they exist and peoplel make shows about "Ghosts" for the profit off of those who believe in them.

I believe that spirits are real but I do not believe in ghosts. There is no actual proof or evidence that ghosts are real. There is probably so many things going on that people believe that they saw a ghost but it was probably just another person.

I do not believe in ghosts or the supernatural because there is no proof that they do exist. When the human body is scared it makes you believe things that aren't true like hearing or even seeing a ghost.
I think they stay in our story's and folklore because the unxplained makes people think and people also love scary story's and the idea of ghosts carrying on after death.

I don't believe in ghosts because there's no scientific evidence that proves they exist.

I think they remain in stories to exploit the fear of death and unresolved conflict

I don't believe in ghosts because I have never seen any solid evidence of ghosts' existence.

I guess the idea of spirits of the dead coming back to haunt the living is more simple than other supernatural creatures. Ghosts are easy to explain, it's just somebody died here. Ghosts are also easy to give motives too, they could be seeking revenge for their own murder or they could just be angry because they are dead. Ghosts could also provide some satisfaction for the audience of a ghost story if they take out a living villain. Like many supernatural creatures they could also be used as an explanation for why things keep breaking in olden times, just blame everything on a ghost. The idea of ghosts can also be comforting if you believe someone close to you is still around in spirit.

I do believe in the supernatural because I think there has got to be more to existence than just the physical plane. I think the supernatural remains prevalent in folklore because the idea of it is so mystical and uncanny to people, and so it really sticks with them regardless of cultural changes.

I believe in supernaturals because they help explain the unknown and give good ideas of other worlds. I don't have a strong belief in ghosts because I've never seen or been cronfronted by a ghost.
