Daily Literary Quote
"When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses."

I think power corrupts you don't know power until you get a piece of it. I cannot think of any news stories. I don't watch the news

So do you see power as the exclusive source of corruption?

Power corrupts because you can be friends with the nicest person ever and as soon as they gain a little bit of power they get rid of you and move on to more powerful friends.

I think power corrupts. You don't have power or know what it is until you override the power someone else has. I don't watch the news so I don't know any stories.

I believe that when you have the feeling that you have the power for anything that power corrupts you when you let the power take over.

I do believe that corrupt people seek power because it makes them feel impressive and powerful. Creating them to want to do that bad thing again because it makes them feel like they have more power.

I belive that both power corrupts but also that corrupt people seek power. Take the movie Aladin for example, jafarr is seeking the throne and has corrupt ways. After reading scythe however I belive that power corupts more than corupt people seek power.

I believe corrupt people seek power or control. Not much of a relevant news story but the capture of H.H. Holmes stopped a corrupt man from getting absolute power.

I think power corrupts because of human pride. Any political news story is an example of power corrupting.

I think it works both ways. Corrupt people will seek out positions of power, but people who have power will always be corrupted. For example, JFK was a stand-up guy until he became president and started cheating on Jackie.

I think both are true but overall power corrupting is more common. I cannot think of any specific story but almost all politicians have had a story of corruption.

i think corrupt people seek power because it gives one the advantage to show love and respect for others while also taking advantage of them at the same time, trying to hit a soft spot with kindness to try and change their perspective on things, or just to "own" them.

i think corrupt people do try and look for power. They try and look for power in any way shape or form and will do or say any thing to get that power. Narcissistic people are what first come to mind and there is alot of those around :)

I think its both. People seek to have power and then power may take over a person. If someone has too much power they will try to take things over. People who seek to have power just want to be a powerful person.

I think its both because I believe I have seen both happen. People can change how they think because they want power. They want authority and want to feel important.
