Journal Prompt
Do you believe in ghosts or the supernatural?  Why or why not?  Why do you think they remain so prevalent in our stories and folklore?

I personally don't believe in ghosts or the supernatural due to lack of prominent evidence, and I believe they are prevalent in folklore just because people like to find solutions to phenomenon and have a solution with what happens after death.

I belive in supernatural thins a little. I have seen many different examples ofthings being moved around but never life changeing movements. They don't seem to be in modern tales it's like people have forgoten about them.

I do not particularly believe in the supernatural, but also I don't doubt that maybe some supernatural things COULD have happened (no examples come to mind for this, however). Outside of enjoying fantastical *stories*, I'm quite down to earth and skeptical to certain things. I think that ghosts / the supernatural are so common in stories today because it helped explain our cultures. Even when it wasn't for that specific purpose, the supernatural was used to keep children safe or obeying (i.e, a scary creature might pretend to be your loved one at night, so stay in bed). Sometimes, people just genuinely believed in a folklore story and it is important to them. Besides, even if it's for none of these reasons, people are simply entertained by the concept of something "more", and those stories are passed on.

I don't believe in ghosts because of the lack of evidence. I feel like a lot of people want them to be real so bad that they convince themselves based on simple and otherwise explainable things.

They remain so prevalent in our stories and folklore because people are afraid of what comes after death, and want some kind of an explanation.
