And all the men and women merely players.”

Journal Prompt
What are some different “roles” you play in your life?  Why do we “act” differently around different people and in different situations?

There are many roles such as a son, golfer, employee, etc. We act differently around different people to fit in to the specific environment. I’m not going to act the same at my home compared to schools for example

Some different roles I play are daughter, sister, and friend. We act differently depending on what is expected of us. Obviously as a daughter I have to be more responsible but as a friend I can be more fun or lenient. It just depends what is required of you.

I act differently around my family and close friends because I’m comfortable with them. Other people I don’t say much or I don’t associated. Then some people think I’m kinda a asshole.

Some of the roles I played are a son, brother, uncle, and wrestler. We act differently around different people because we want to present ourselves different around others. For example, one acts professional at a business meeting or an interview for a job then they do around their friends.

We act differently around certain people to either impress them or show them that we don’t like them. Each situation calls for a different version of yourself. Whether it be good or bad, people tend to change depending on who they’re around.

In my life I played many different roles. While I’m at school, I play the role of a student who is learning and improving my skills. At work, my role is a cook, creating meal plans and cooking meals for old people. We usually act different around other people due to us being uncomfortable or untrusting.

Some different roles you might play in life are like the jock roll, the mature roll, the childish roll, and then just being you. It really just depends on what friends you are with at that time and how they react to certain situations. We tend to act differently around different people and in different situations because it’s basically just the vibe that some people you’re around give off then you act a certain way to meet that criteria.

We act differently around different people based on who they are. We want to please others so we change who we are so they will like us. In my life I play the role of a middle child, a girlfriend, and a best friend.

I am a friend, daughter, sister, cousin, and teammate. We all act different in front of different people because of our surroundings. We are a lot more comfortable at home compared to a friends house.

While working, at school, around family or friends. Being at work is needing to be more professional. With friends you can be yourself and chill. With family it just depends on how comfortable you are with them. Being at school is more laid back but needing to pay attention.

You change the way you act based off of the environment. The environment at work is a lot different than with your friends so there is going to be a difference in the way you portray yourself.

My roles are a daughter, friend, and employee. At work I have to be happy all the time and be professional but when i’m with my friends or at home with my parents I don’t have to be happy all the time or be so professional I can let loose.

In situations like hockey I have to behave more maturely because I’m supposed to be a role model for the younger kids. We have to behave differently in certain situations based on what will benefit us the most.

I'm an aunt to 4 nieces and 1 nephew, I'm a sister, a daughter, a CNA, and a friend.
I act differently around my friends than my family. At home I don't like to tell my family anything about my personal life but I still do just not all of it. At school I tell my trusted friends things I won't tell my family and when I'm at counseling I'll tell my councilor everything. I think we act differently around different groups of people because we are either self conscious or we are enthusiastic.

The friend who does anything for nothing in return, the friend who is the third wheel for people in a relationship, the person who doesnt get invited out to do things with friends, the person who no one wants a relationship with, the outcast, the one who the teachers really like usually, the one who will help anyone and not expect anything in return, the one who cannot say no to many things, the one who concentrates on school work while others goof off. Different people make us act differently by how they act. Same with different situations

I play many different roles depending on the environment. At school I am a student improving my skills and while at home I am a son fulfilling responsibilities. We often change because we aren’t comfortable in situations or must adapt to the current environment.

Usually happens when your around family and friends. Because when you’re around friends you feel free to say whatever you want and do. But when you’re with the family you feel obligated to be the responsible kid.

When your around different people there are different expectations for your behavior for example your boss would expect you to be more professional than your friends. In the same sense your friends might expect you to be more playful than parents.
