All of these are complete opposites in my opinion, but could be used to brain wash people who have the same mindset
You are right, this made me feel more dumb reading this
I guess it makes sense in their society because they say so, but for the average joe out here it doesn’t. The government would benefit from this slogan.
In the context of 1984 (at the least), these statements reflect essentially one thing: the promotion of ultimate submission of one people in speech, rights, and knowledge. Leaving a people ignorant of the their rights and the truth leaves them to be easily controlled.
Way to word it Gary
That’s pretty much it
It’s mostly all about control your right.
The words could represent a mindset like “Freedom is Slavery” the mindset if that one could be if you think that there isn’t freedom you’re subconsciously a slave to the system
Wow such an exquisite answer
True you are right
I didn’t think about it that way. Good answer
Interesting didnt think about it that way
These statements are idiotic and resemble an oxymoron. I’ve never found truth of any sort in these phrases. George Orwell has now made me dumber for saying these phrases. People could use these slogans if they are at a party and want to appear as the smallest intellectual there.
Blunt. I like it
Spoken like a true hero
Well said Stefan
True true true
Way to say it how it is.
I would say this is not true because this seems like something the government would try and slap in our heads in hopes of getting us to follow them, without questioning.
These are opposites, and I think this is dumb
Well, you're not wrong
Way to speak ur mind 👍🏼
No the do not make sense I think someone would use them if they wanted to brainwash people and make them think was was wrong was right.
Like serf said, they are oxymorons. These contradictory statements don’t make sense to me but I can see someone using these as slogans for political advertising.
I meant stef
None of them make sense all of him contradict each other.
All of him
War can make peace but it’s definitely not the first option to exceeding peace. Freedom is the opposite of slavery the people who might benefit from it would be a form of government that want to control there citizens with this mindset making them easy to be controlled.
This sounds like something a dictator would say to his people because he wants absolute control over them and doesn’t want them to question what he/she is doing. To me none of these make sense because they all sound backwards.
I think they mean the opposite of each other. I think people use them to trick people into thinking otherwise
In these three lines it is saying the opposite of what it really means. Honestly it makes sense because war is the opposite of peace but in some ways it can bring peace. The president might benefit from this and maybe an army commander.
These slogans are just the opposite of what they say. These slogans are meant to influence the society to believe in these corrupt things the government was doing. They use these to give themselves a pass in things such as war.
They don’t make sense they are completely opposite of what they say.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
