The movie shows the relationship between peasant and lords somewhat accurately and the struggles of courting during that time. These days we still struggle to change “modern classes”.
Good analysis, but I disagree. It is easier than ever to change your class, with the Internet being an aid in doing so.
That is a very good point.
Good point lil buddy
Well look at you go
That’s a good thought
In the Middle Ages, as in A Knight’s Tale, women are often considered not as women, but as objects, more to be had than to be loved, and there was no class changes, like a peasant couldn’t become a knight, for example. But what A Knight’s Tale also does is it injects a couple metric tones of stereotypical Americana into it, like how you can “change your stars, you can be what you want,” that type of bull.
So sayeth Gary
Wow that is very true.
Well said gary
Well said good ol lad.
That’s a very America statement.
Shows how unimportant pesants were which is kinda sad 😢. Shows how nobody can change their stars
But he did change his stars
At least back then you couldn’t. You could now, if ya really wanted to.
In the movie it talks about how knights want to keep their honor. And the arranged marriages. How it connects to modern day is men still want to keep their honor whole. And women are still not treated equally
The clothing and accents are more mid evil compared to today’s times.
I mean, I hope so, since it does take place in Midieval Europe. It’d be awfully weird to go to a jousting tournament and see everyone wearing t-shirts and Air Jordans
True they had wayyy better style
I feel like it reflects modern virtues by showing the scene where Jocelyn asks William to lose for her. If someone says they love you, most would expect them to do anything for you and William does just that.
An example of classic Americana
I agree with you on this
I agree 100% with this
It reflects the values because men thought they were more important then women back then. It shows our modern values because it's still hard to change your class.
Very good point. Way to think outside the box.
Women are treated as objects not as people. But he gets involved in sports to change his status and I think that’s kinda how society today is because we always think of the jocks as like popular people but that’s not always how it works
That is a good way to put it
I completely agree
It shows how people weren’t able to change there status easily. It also shows how it doesn’t matter your status you can do anything if you out your mind to it.
The values of that you have be of noble blood to be a Knight is shown is the movie. The clothes and accents are also the same as well. Views that are in the movie that are current today are the whole a man can change his stars and the love story part.
Very well said
It shows the different classes like the peasants and wealthy. It also shows all the struggles and things guys will do just to get a girl which could also relate to modern times.
It’s shows that if you are in a different class then you can’t change that and if you do then there will be major consequences. Yes we have different classes but we are able to change them without any consequences.
It reflects the Middle Ages with the joist And what not. It reflects modern like when he is trying to prove to that girl you see that a lot in now a days
There’s different classes, but you can’t just choose to change them. In our society now we can change if we want.
It shows the difference between the classes way back then
The movie reflects the Middle Ages with their defined social levels. There Nobel’s, knights, lords and then there’s your peasants and workers and for a peasant, there’s no chance that they can move up in society. The movie reflects our modern values by playing some music from the modern era.
In the movie it shows how lords and peasants collide with one another and how the peasants try and be as equal as the nobels. In today’s times we still struggle to change the modern class.
Medieval times showed the social difference between the working class and the upper class. Nowadays it’s much easier to change your status by working hard and influencing modern philosophies and social values. These days a man is judged by what’s in his wallet and not who his father was.
It reflects the Middle Ages by making girls seem like an object and that they’re just a prize for the guy but don’t really have much value. It reflects today’s values by the guys not wanting to ruin their egos and how you can do anything if you put your mind to.
Some of the ways that “The Knights Tales” shows the Middle Ages is when Joshlen asked for Will to loose to show his love. They are modern way is how he talks and some of the terms.
Back then men were treated way better and got more privileges compared to now days were women are more equal
It shows that woman are seen lower in society. We can change our class and not have any problems.
I think that this shows how important their class that they were born into was. It decided their whole life. It shows how women have been used as objects or prizes.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
