They are all similar because they all talk about how far technology has come in just a relatively short amount of time and how far we have advanced as a society
I like how you mentioned how far we have gone technology wise in today's world.
I like how you pontes out how far technology has improved
I think also says how we have decreased as a society too.
I feel the three have something to do with technology. Because it would be hard to explain all the new technological advancements we have made since the 90's. The screenshot is all about phones. And everything they can do and they are capable of. The picture is showing all the evolution that we have made to just go right back to being hunched like the monkey🙊.
I lie how you said "hunched like a monkey"
I think that the quote means that just by not reading books could destroy them mentally I guess. And the screenshot and the picture means that we are too obsessed with technology in our time. The similarities are that we'd rather watch cat vids instead of get what Jesse would call "KNOWLEDGE". We really need to wait on the cats and respond to the actual world around us.
I agree, we need to pay attention and respond to our world, not just our snapchat 🙂
I like what you said how we need to respond to the world around us.
I think cat videos are a type of "KNOWLEDGE".
The quote is saying just by not reading a books it could ruin our civilization. If we didn't read all the banned books we wouldn't have basically any good books to read. We can do so much with the technology and devices we have but most of us don't use them to the capability we could. We are turning back into an ape except more lazy.
The similarities between the three are they all have technology in them. They are saying instead of reading books or working around we are centered around our phones, computers, etc.
I like how you said that we are basically turning back into apes
I like how you said you said that with the technology we have we could do so much but we don't.
I like how you said we're turning back into an ape but more lazy😂
These all mean that humans are getting
lazy and taking things for granted. We do have the answers to many questions in our pockets, but yet we don't realize it. All three state that we are lazy and take things for granted. I think it's saying we have hit a barrier and now we have new problems. Instead of hunting for food, we have to learn to be productive, even though it's easier than ever to not.
I like how you mentioned how we have the answers in our pockets.
We take so much in our world for granted. I think if some of it was taken away some people wouldn't know what to do. Good point
I like how you said that we hit a barrier and now we have new problems.
I agree people as a whole are getting lazier because they expect things right away.
I agree we take things for advantage
Absolutely. We have created all these things to make life easier, but now we don't have anything to do with our lives.
A similarity between the three is that technology has become a big part in our lives today and it often controls what we do with our time. For example, like the quote says, we don't need to burn books, just get people to stop reading them, and I think that applies today a lot because instead of reading we play on our phones or have other activities that prevent us from reading as much.
I agree, our phone take us away from reading or just everyday activities
I agree with you too about how we waste are time doing things on our phones other than reading a good book.
I agree with what you said about that tech has become a big part in our lives and controls our time.
It's important because it shows that books are made for a reason. If we didn't have books then we wouldn't know what life was like in the past and we wouldn't have as much knowledg. All three pictures have to do with technology and pointing out that we are all too obsessed with the internet and technology
You make a good point. I agree.
I agree that we wouldn't know as much about the past if we didn't have books.
I like how you mention that knowledge came from books and without that we would't have as much technology.
The similarities are that we have all this great equipment that we could access almost anything in the world with and we just use it for stupid things. Also that we are so obsorbed in all at our technology that all we do is use it all day instead of actually going outside and experiencing the real wold.
I like what you said about how we need to experience the real world.
The quote means that in order to forget a culture, ban the knowledge about it. It would be so difficult to try and explain our current tech to past peoples. They would be so mystified and baffled at something that we take for granted. The last picture is man evolving into a people who now pretty much need technology nowadays. All three are linked to our digital uses, like Google. Like, who has never used Google? It's a verb now guys.
I love how you explained the quote
Yeah, now we can "google" things and study whatever we want and it's right at our fingertips.
I think that the quote means that you can get people to stop reading books. We are on electronics all the time now and hardly anyone ever reads. The screenshot and the picture show that we are to involved in technology. We can use it for anything but we use it for games and texting each other.
Very. We take for granted what we have. We have access to the whole world basically through our phones and we don't even think twice about saying oh I don't know just google it.
I agree with you that we are way to involved in our technology
I think in a way the quote is talking about how burning books ruins a culture just as much as people not reading them and that's where the 3 tie into together. They are all related to how much technology has evolved and how people don't read books as much and how we spend tons of wasted time on technology. This is how they critiqued our society to be.
I agree that not reading does the same amount of damage as burning books
I like how you said that we spend a lot of wasted time on technology.
We really do waste a ton of time. It's awful.
The meaning of the quote is that you don't have to be violent to destroy a culture just slowly take away something that makes them who they are. The screenshot kind of makes a joke of our modern day technology and how crazy it sounds when you try to explain it to someone who doesn't know about it like we do. The picture shows he evolution of man and makes a joke of what technology has done to our society. We spend more time sitting around then standing and walking and exploring because of all the modern day technology that makes thing easier. All three critique or society and what we have become today. We pay less attention to the world around us then we did 50 years ago because we have so many more distractions and access to so much more knowledge.
I like how you said we pay more attention now to things we have and how we've made new inventions with our resources. I like the way you interpreted the quotes.
I really like the last part of your post, when you said that we pay less attention to the world the we did 50 years ago.
I like how you said you don't have to be violent to destroy a culture. Also, I like how you pointed out that we are more distracted than we were 50+ years ago.
They are showing/talking about how much our world has changed and how much diffeeent we are. Some similarities that the world is changing and that we are changing as an evolution. Some critiques are that we have a huge obsession with technology.
Yes, we do have a huge obsession with technology.
I think it means that they need to make books something that is not exectible to destroy a culture. I would think it would be like trying to explain it to your grandma, very slowly. The similarty is that it takes time to do those things. The critique is that they miss the things around them by being so focused on technology.
The meaning of the quote is trying to get people to understand that, in order to get rid of a culture you don't need to get rid of the books about it you just need to quit reading about the culture. The screenshot is trying to tell you that a person from a past era won't understand all of the new technology of today's world. The picture is showing how man has evolved over time and now all we have to do to find out about our past is look it up on the Internet. They are all trying to put the point out there that our life is so much easier than our ancestors because of all the new technology that we have. We don't need to read books about the past life, instead we can look it up on a device that you can access the web on. The critique they make about our society is that we are too involved in technology now that we don't have time to look back in time and see how our ancestors lived.
The quote is saying that you don't have to go through the trouble of burning books to control people you just have to convince them not to read them. The screen shot is a making a serious joke about how society uses the mass of information we have to do dumb things instead of what we have the potential to do. The picture is showing the evolution of man and how with the more technology we have we are in a way turning back into what we started. All three of these is saying we have a lot of information and so much each of us could do with it but very few people have used it correctly. All of these are making fun of what society has come to.
The quote shows that burning books isn't going to make people not read that certain book. The screenshot shows how much technology and people have changed in such a short period of time, yet we still take it for granted. The picture shows how people are changing to rely on technology more. With all of them, technology has taken over and changed today's world. It shows that humans today are way too obsessed with technology and their devices.
Great point on the screenshot and it's so true that we are obsessed with technology.
I feel like the meaning of the quote is that destroying the books is not the way to destroy a culture, you just need to have people forget about them. The meaning behind the screenshot it that people today don't realize how much information they have at their fingertips and how the people of yesterday would have been shocked to see people of today not using these devices to gain valuable knowledge. The picture means that as the humans evolved, we went backwards in a way. With our focus on technology, we don't realize how bad this is for us as a society. Some similarities would be that they could all relate to technology, the culture surrounding it, and how we are distancing ourselves from books. The critique that they all make towards us is that we are pushing ourselves away from our roots of knowledge, books.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
