I feel like Emilia could have returned the handkerchief to Othello or Desdamona when she found it. It probably would've made it so that nobody died
The handkerchief really played an important role in everyone dying.
I agree, if Emilia had just given it to the righteous owner than maybe things would have been different and nobody would've gotten killed.
That's a good point that I didn't think about. If she didn't give the "magic" handkerchief to Iago, it could have been much different.
I agree, everyone most likely would've ended up fine.
This is the first person I though of too!
Emilia could have come in earlier telling them about what happened before Othello kileld Desdamona. Or when Othello saw Cassio on the ground could have asked others what happened and if Cassio was dead. Then Othello would not have gotten the "sign" from Iago telling him to kill Desdamona
I agree that Emilia could have spoke soon than she did and there wouldn't have been so many deaths
Roderico could not have been jealous of Othello marrying Desdemona and not have told Iago that he was jealous. It would have changed subsequent events by not having Iago telling everyone that Desdemona was in love with Cassio. Othello then wouldn't have killed Desdemona and himself, he would have still believed that she was a loyal wife to him.
I definitely agree if rodrico had kept his feelings to himself everything would have gone a different way.
If Othello talked to Desdemona about the handkerchief or the whole "relationship" everything hopefully would have been different. All he needed to do was trust his wife more than Iago. If they talked at he very start of the scheme everyone would be much happier and still be alive.
I agree that he should've trusted his wife more than Iago and they should've talked about the handkerchief
Yeah he just needed to listen to her and believe her
I agree, if they actually talked instead of just assuming then things would have been so much better. Not as many deaths.
Good point, if they would've talked about and had faith in each other no one would've died.
I agree. Conversation is definitely key. If they would've talked then the whole situation could have been avoided.
Yeah, Othello was just being stupid. They should have talked it out.
Desdamona could have confronted Othello about his confusing behavior. They could have worked it out, the plot that Iago wove. If Othello truly loved and trusted her, that is.
I agree that the communication between Othello and Desdamona could have been so much better
I agree, they just needed more communication.
I definitely agree, communication would have been the saving grace in this instance.
Emilia could have given Desdemona back her handkerchief instead of taking it to Iago. I think it would have changed the whole outcome because iago wouldn have had proof that Desdemona was with Cassio and therefore Othello would have never believed him or killed Desdemona.
Yes, Iago's plot wouldn't be as solid if the handkerchief was returned to the owner.
I think it's crazy how a lot of us thought the same thing. That Emilia could've changed the events enormously.
I agree with you that if she had given back the handkerchief it would have changed that ending of the story
I think that if Othello had ease dropped on a few of Desdamona's conversations with Emilia he would hear how much Dessdamona really loves him and he wouldn't go through everything he had to go through. Everyone might be able to live in the end if this happened. It makes sense to ease drop on the person being accused instead of believing your friend.
Yes othello should have listened in on Desdemonas conversations way more than he did.
He should have just asked out front instead of sneaking around assuming what was happening.
Only if that were to happen, how a better ending, a happier ending would have occurred.
I think Emilia could've changed the out come by telling Desdemona what she suspected her husband was doing. Then Desdemona could've found out sooner why Othello was acting weird and talked to him about it before he over heard people and assumed things. Maybe Desdemona would've stayed alive then.
If Iago wasn't abusive and had her scared, she would have told. She just wanted to make him happy.
I feel the whole ending could have been different if Emilia would have talked to Desdamona earlier
Emilia could have decided to not give Iago the handkerchief. This would have foiled his plan. Also, Othello could have just gone and talked to Desdemona about the whole rumor. By talking to her he would've realized that the whole thing was false and maybe everyone could have lived.
Yes I agree, if only they communicated this play could've ended happy.
I agree with the fact that emeilia could have decided to not give Idaho the handkerchief. If she would've given it back to Desdemona it would've messed up the plan.
If Othello would have just told desdomona how he felt, with her "cheating on him", it all would have ended. Everyone would have teamed up on Iago.
I agree with you that if Othello would have just talked to desdamona about her "cheating" on him then everything would have ended there.
Othello and Desdemona could've talked more and communicated about what was making each other mad. Also If Othello wouldve trusted Desdemona they would've gotten along a lot better.
Trust is definitely part of any relationship. If they could have talked and trusted eachother then Othello wouldn't have believed what Iago said and wouldn't have eventually killed his wife.
Othello could have listened in on Emilia and desdamona when they were talking about him. Desdamona was talking about how she loved othello so much and didn't know why he was acting so strange. If he would have heard this conversation him and desdamona would communicate and figured out iagos evil scheme.
If othello would've listened to Desdemonas conversation with Emilia then he would've figured out everything.
I just don't understand why he trusted Iago more than Desdemona. Like, I thought you loved her.
If Othello had granted Iago, rather than Cassio, governor of Cyprus, he wouldn't have been jealous. Then Iago wouldn't have to get revenge. Cassio probably wouldn't hold a grudge and he would just get over it. Des and Othello would live happily ever after.
I don't know if Othello and Desdemona would have ended happy ever after. Othello had little trust with her, the very next fight would have ended it.
Wow, you went way back to the beginning, I didn't think of that one. Yeah I think Cassio would have been a lot more cool about not getting promoted than I ago was.
I think that if Othello would have asked Cassio what was happening between desdamona and then Othello would have found out that she was not cheating on him with Cassio. If he would have done that then desdamona probably wouldn't be dead.
One thing that could have changed everything is that Othello could have listened to Desdemona. If he realized that his wife was more truthful than Iago, everything would have ended (most likely) in a better way. Also, Othello would have probably would have killed Iago for his untruthfulness.
Emilia could have spoke up soon about her husband's dirty deeds. She could have told Desdamoa or Othello about his plan with the handkerchief or any of the lies with Cassio.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
