We are on the final stretch of our senior year, and soon we will be headed to college on our own. This thought is kind of intimidating, but for me, I am confident that what I am going to study is something I am passionate about. This leads me to wonder, what field are you guys studying and why did you choose it?

I am choosing to pursue pediatric nursing. For as long as I can remember, being around young children has been enjoyable for me. I have always had patience for them, and know how to communicate with them. Another aspect in my life is that I will always look for ways to help people. Pediatric nursing covers both of these criterias. I am so excited to become a pediatrician and help children’s lives.

I want to become a labor and delivery nurse. This field of study is actually something I never thought I would head into, healthcare and human science. But as I was applying to collages and thinking about what degree to purse, a voice came to me and said this is what you are to do with your life. So, it was kind of a revelation for me in a way. But also, I love children, especially babies, and I want to have kids of my own one day. So, with that I prepare myself and others who are wanting to having children.

Choosing my major for school went through many phases, as I've been fortunate to like many things. Throughout my freshman and sophomore year I wanted to go into genetics, it was something I liked in biology and it was just overall something I liked quite a bit. Though I changed my mind last year when I met Braswell. She inspired me to get into teaching English, well and the fact that I have six teachers in my family also inspired me to get into the "family business."
