Making the School Day Exciting (Krissy)

I know it’s not common for us to want to be at school. At least to learn anyways. We get to socialize, participate in extracurriculars, and interact with people we don’t normally do. But, we’re also at school to learn new things and develop new learning abilities. All of us are academically skilled in our own ways and reflect that in our classes, even if they’re not our favorites. But I feel like everyone at least has one class that makes their day better. My question is what is your favorite class you’re currently taking at school? Either because of the curriculum, or because of the people in it.

For me, I really enjoy my speech class. It is a full classroom with 27 kids which made me very nervous at first but it’s a good group. I enjoy speech because I need to develop good public speaking skills for my future career, but also because I love being able to write every week. My classmates make the class fun with humorous speeches, and fun jokes which makes speaking in front of them once a week a lot less stressful. I also enjoy the work. Learning all the different aspects of communicating and developing that into powerful speeches is a good thing to know, and I wish I would’ve know these topics before speaking at all of my senior project events. Although the work load is heavy, I enjoy knowing that these skills will be transferred into my future career and will be used in my future.

I love this question! My answer every year before this one would be math because I really love doing math. The only class I have this year where I do this subject is business math, and we don’t even do math so it is not very fun. To answer your question, I look forward to my fourth hour class everyday. It is just an IDLA/study hall class, and I am taking online health, but I have a lot of friends in that class. During that hour of the day I feel like I can relax, and get my homework done. Although it is not a class where I have a heavy workload, I love getting to socialize with the people I thoroughly enjoy being around.

I like that you said this! Study hall and IDLA hours can be the most fun with the right people in it. I also really enjoy my Senior Project class as it provides me this same feeling!

I also really like some of my free classes, such as the aid class that I have this year. I would have picked that class as my favorite, but it is not really a class because there is no curriculum. I get a lot of work done during it, and it is right after first hour, which lets me get some mental rest when I am tired.

I also really love my study hall hour. It's so nice to use that time to either get a head or spend a little longer time on my homework. I also like it because it's just another place to do things. Homework is so challenging for me because I feel like there needs to be a difference between school life and home life. So having that area is really useful. Plus having my friends around me while I do work is a nice plus too.

I love taking idla or study hall hours mainly because its a time for peace and real work to be done. However we go to school in a zoo sometimes and the creatures next to me make it impossible to do anything.

Personally my favorite class is math this year. Although I hate math as a subject the class this year is nice and easy. Plus I love to gossip and trauma dump to my table mates. Most of them being the only people I like in school.

Your right, being around the right type of people can make any place or situation a lot easier to handle and more fun.

My favorite class that I am taking right now would have to be Government. We all know how Mr. Born teaches his class. He tells us what to write down in our notes, gives easy assignments, and give the answers to the test on the board. While it's an easy class, I do feel that I am learning our countries government and I'm preparing myself for the civics test. Also, I really enjoy the conversation with Mr. Born and the people surrounding me. Laughing and talking while not having to worry so much about the actual class.

I also really enjoy Mr. Born as a teacher, the way he teaches a lecture really helps me learn. I also like how his classes are lighthearted and simple!

Born's class real is the easiest point of the day. Its the one class I can turn my brain off and just write things down. Makes it easy compared to the strenuous activity my brain normal goes through.

I took government through Girls State this last summer so I do not have this class. I enjoyed my time at Girls State, but I wish I could have Mr. Born as a teacher because he is a really funny guy.

This is a hard question for me to answer because I only go to school for five hours, one of those hours I am an aid. So, I do not have many classes to choose from, however, if I could only pick one class, it would be AP Environmental science because I like a lot of the people in the class and I enjoy the curriculum. The class talks a lot about the human impact on the environment, which is very interesting to learn about and discover how to help the environment with small tasks. It is a small class that offers great one-on-one learning time and fun class discussions as well.

I too enjoy this class! I like getting to socialize with the people in our area, as well as doing the assignments together. I also enjoy how everyone in that class is willing to work.
