Graduation (Krissy)

Graduation is around the corner and the reality is finally sinking in that we are almost done with school. For me personally, I am being hit with a wave of emotions from being excited to go and take the next step, and being very sad that there are so many “lasts” that have happened this year.

What is the final “last” you’re least looking forward to, or have done, and what is your favorite? For me, I’m not looking forward to the last day of school with everyone. As exciting as it is to graduate, I know that it is going to be bittersweet knowing it’ll be one of the last times I’m in school, and with my classmates. The one I’m most excited for is prom. I love dances and the chance to dress up for the night, and it’s always such a fun time with friends.

If you ask nearly any of our peers (those who pay attention) about my attitude with Salmon the general concensus is that I hate this place. They'd be right in that assessment. I'm ready for our last day of school, for it to finally be over and to start the next section of my life. And while I'm not entirely ready to leave school I'm ready to leave Salmon. And if nostalgia ever happens to take me to memory lane I doubt the place will be important. As the only thing I'll miss about this place are the friends that made these three years bearable.

I am not looking forward to spending the last day of school knowing that I won’t see or know so many people after then. It’s sad to me that we grow up with a group of people we know so well, just to say bye on a random day in May. I’m looking forward to finishing up the schoolwork and going on senior sneak. I think it will be super fun. I’m also excited to spend more time with those I love.

I am also not excited for the actual last day of school. It is going to be very bittersweet hearing that bell ring for the last time. And also, kind of saying goodbye to being a student in high school with my younger classmen friends. One thing I am excited for that is coming up is the spring choir trip. We are going to perform in Utah and go spend some time in lagoon. It's going to be fun performing one last time and hanging out with friends at an amusement park.
